I just FINALLY got TF2 free edition and I'm getting that error after validating steam files. Help?

I've tried, and read some more forum posts about other people trying too, didn't work, they posted 2 fixes, one being reinstalling steam. I might do that... later.

Probably considering its during the day on a Saturday and everyone is downloading TF2 which is quite big. Just wait till later in the day or at night to initiate the download.

Now it goes to 100% validating, waits 15 mins, goes back to 45 %, then goes to 100% and waits 5 mins, then the same error.
