The Imperial Republic of Novus is expanding it's borders in an attempt to attract more immigrants and of course, to please the ever-expanding demands of their ruler: Caesar Kozlov.  The land they've taken has stopped short of a mountain range.

Constellation Foederatarum News

 - 3 members of the Parliament have been impeached and arrested for being caught drinking alcohol, as this violates the law banning ALL alcohol and tobacco products. Child research was also found on one of their computers. They are currently serving a year in a low-security jail.

 - A "kamikaze" driver kills 2 people and injures 7 on Highway 3 near Chandelier. The driver, apparently suicidal after going bankrupt and losing his family, drove 90 MPH down the wrong lane, causing several drivers to veer off the road. Some of these drivers hit various objects, and one lost control and collided head-on with a van. The driver of the van was killed instantly, and the two occupants of the pick-up truck were injured severely. One died of her injuries. The kamikaze driver later crashed into a sedan, after being spun out by a police cruiser. The 3 occupants of the sedan were uninjured, and the kamikaze driver was surrounded and arrested. He is in high-security prison for 4 years for murder and reckless driving.
