My brother has a VPS, we're running already a MineCraft server 24/7. We don't know if we just can host Blockland dedi on it.

It requires so much less than minecraft. Minecraft's network code was programmed so inefficiently, it's basically a singleplayer game hacked for multiplayer. They need to reprogram it for faster networking.
