I wouldn't get an FX processor. They solve the issue of not having as high performance as Intel by adding more cores, which not many games are going to even utilize 8 cores.

Also, get an R9 280 instead, roughly the same performance for a lower price. Use the saved money to get a better CPU and PSU. Don't skimp on the PSU, it's a very important part, and the Corsair CX series is a budget series, they're really not quite as great as people make them out to be. Get a Seasonic perhaps?

Do you know what you're doing for an OS yet? It's not included in that build.

Here's a good build in your price range, I think. Includes windows too. I do suggest getting a better PSU though.
Edited Champions build further, this should be as good as you can get for your needs and budget.

6000th post! :D

Since its a budget build, the FX is actually what he wants. The power supply looks good enough to me. I do agree though that it might be better to get the R9 280. slightly lower price, but around the same performance.

Except he can get an i5 in his price range, I'd think that'd be better.

And I asked about PSUs on tomshardware, and everyone was telling me the CX series isn't a good idea for mid-high end machine.

Exactly. I actually made a sub section on steam for games i own but couldnt play due to lag.

I did the same thing when I first divided up my library into what I wanted to play and what I was done with

I've got Skyrim, Just Cause 2, Transistor, and several others that I'm dying to play, and others I want to play again with the graphics turned up from "absolute lowest" like BioShock 2 and Saint's Row 3

alright, I edited the build slightly, and now it has a seasonic power supply and radeon R9 280 graphics. It ended up being a bit cheaper which is nice

I don't know quite yet, but it will be sorted out soon

i would get an i5, but they are much more expensive and i need something relatively cheap

i'll definitely look into champion's build, though

you can get an i5 for $30 more than the 8320, and you can probably save a little more on a motherboard, unless you really want/need the higher end features.

@TrainandSpacelover

Maybe go for this if you can make up the money ($60~ over but just $3~ over with rebates), not a K-Series processor but neither you nor your budget suggest that you're looking for that ability.

Other people can feel free to weigh-in on the motherboard choice, I'm fairly confident about everything else however.

Anyone have any keyboard suggestions? I went and felt some switch types today and I think I'll go with something that uses cherry browns

Corsair seems to be a good brand for mechanical keyboards, gonna be getting a K95 (or generational equivalent at the time of purchase) when I have the money for it.

This is the MOBO Tokthree suggested, and it currently comes with free 8 gigs of RAM?

I doubt that offer will still be on once the motherboard is back in-stock

can we also all agree that cosair is master race for psu

I think thats a pretty sweet mobo.

Corsair seems to be a pretty good company all around.

I have an evga PSU.

Would probably be best to drop down to some 1600Mhz RAM, would be a real pain to lose stuff saved in your RAM because the voltage spiked or something. (I don't know much about RAM, voltages or anything related to overclocking. However I do know (probably) that it's generally not wise to run things at voltages that aren't supported by the CPU)
Ok, so here's the conundrum. The RAM I have on the list has a CAS latency of 9, which I was told was better lower.

I've limited my RAM search to 1.5V and under as per the recommended voltage for the CPU, and I'd have to pay $140 for anything with a CAS of 9.

Is 11 that bad?

Here is my ram. Dont know where you are finding $140, unless yo are going for 16gb
