Author Topic: SOMA- Frictional Game's next project- TRAILER RELEASED  (Read 2324 times)

While The Chinese Room worked on Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, it looks like Frictional Games was up to something else.

Clicking the URL in the video description takes you to This Website. It is currently "recovering files"- which most likely means once it finishes the information about the game will be revealed.

There are lots of people saying it looks like an SCP inspired game, which honestly, I wouldn't mind as long as it's different from the others. I personally think and SCP-based amnesia would be brilliant.

Discuss.

EDIT: Gameplay footage has been released! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWHVkMIP1b8

SOMA is also the title of a Victorias Secret Bra line'

This game has been development at least since before AAMFP was announced. During AAMFP's ARG where the game was eventually revealed, I accidentally found a concept art archive on the site. (Part of the ARG was examining page code, finding webpages, etc.) Seems to be the same game.

Official discussion topic on Frictional's forum: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-18435.html

Explains the details of the trailer (It is not an actual level - Just an example level from the perspective of a minor side-character), inspiration, etc.

2015.
WHY?!
I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!

It's been in development since before A Machine for Pigs was fully announced. It's been said they already have 3 years into it. They are taking their sweet time. As far as the video they released today, it seems they have a bundle of assets. But if it's anything like previous videos they've done where what is shown is just a tech demo essentially, it will take them a while to get everything pieced together.

Honestly, I think PS4 Europe tweeting the ARG forgeted it up. People in the official discussion topic which Frictional monitors since its on their forum were freaking out assuming it was going to be a PS4 exclusive to the point news sites started reporting it as fact. It got out of hand, and I think they decided to cut the ARG short before stuff got really bad. Even if that wasn't the case, I can see how they'd rather it so they can outright say "PC and PS4."

god the new trailer was more creepier than Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
