Are you using milkshape?
If so, you should learn how to do smoothing groups so the lamp has smooth sides and distinguishable top, stuff like that.
Tell me if you need a brief tutorial.

I made it smooth but it look's horrible so i changed it back

I made it smooth but it look's horrible so i changed it back

You can smooth it to not look horrible though.
So only the sides of the lamp are smoothed so it looks like that default cone brick, while top and bottom are "flat".
