What's Android?
Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google. With a user interface based on direct manipulation, Android is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, with specialized user interfaces for televisions (Android TV), cars (Android Auto), and wrist watches (Android Wear).

Android Wear
Android Wear is a version of Google's Android operating system designed for smartwatches and other wearables. By pairing with mobile phones running Android version 4.3 or newer, or iOS version 8.2 or newer with limited support from Google's pairing application, Android Wear integrates Google Now technology and mobile notifications into a smartwatch form factor. It also adds the ability to download applications from the Google Play Store.

Reddit: Sync, Karma Machine, Slide, or Relay
Utility: Pocket, Chromer, Monospace, Rewards, or Keep
Music: Phonograph, Spotify, or Shuttle

OEM Skins
Samsung Touchwiz: Heavy, feature rich and generally looks pretty ugly imo. There is a theming engine, though.
LG UX: It doesn't seem to scale well the longer you use it. I've had mine for 6 months and its starting to slow a bit. Comparable to Samsungs UX.
HTC Sense: Fast and lighter then most, carries a feature rich theme engine on M9's but who even owns those toasters?
Asus: Heavy and overall bad, looks hideous and lacks any features worth using
MIUI: Some like it and some don't. I personally haven't used it.
AOSP: Lightest you can possibly get in a non custom rom, fast and sticks to a consistent UI, but lacks features.

Variants
Nougat 7.0-7.1.2: Refinements, looks good.
Marshmallow 6.0- 6.0.1: Stability update and tons of essential things which were gone.
Lollipop 5.0 - 5.1.1: Material Design, massive overhaul in the UI including ART instead of Dalvik runtime.

What's iOS?
Originally unveiled in 2007 for the iPhone, it has been extended to support other Apple devices such as the iPod Touch (September 2007), iPad (January 2010), iPad Mini (November 2012) and second-generation Apple TV onward (September 2010). As of January 2015, Apple's App Store contained more than 1.4 million iOS applications, 725,000 of which are native for iPad. These apps have collectively been downloaded more than 75 billion times.

Package Management
By default, OS X offers no package management that is similar to GNU/Linux but there are third party alternatives available that cover most of the general usage of a package manager, including the ability to install an alternative X server and run something like i3 or BSPWM window manager on your OS X installation. Check out brew.sh (recommended), or MacPorts

What's Cydia?
Cydia is an alternative to Apple's App Store for "jailbroken" devices, at this time including iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches, specializing in the distribution of all that is not an "app". Cydia is not available in Apple's App Store, nor is it a website: it is installed on your device using a "jailbreaking" tool, such as Pangu or evasi0n.

iOS Tweaks
CCSettings, groovylock, lockglyph, mikoto, Messages Customiser, protean, Winterboard, Zeppelin, f.lux, Alkaline, Auxo, AnyDrop, Browser Changer, and BetterFiveIconDock

Mac Tweaks

iOS Icons
Indigo icons, 0bvious icons, matilda icons, hylic icons, The Circles, and enkel icons

Mac Icons

Jailbreaking Methods
Pangu: Works on iOS 9.0.2 - 9~, 8.0.3 - 8.1, 7.1 - 7.1.x.
RedSn0w Worked on 6.0.1 - 6, 5.1.1 - 5, 4.3.5 - 4, 3.1.3
evasi0n: Worked on iOS 7.x, 6.x

iOS Variants
iOS 10~: I actually like it, runs well.
iOS 9 - 9.3.3: Quite a few changes in the UI, Laggy as forget on older devices for some reason. Air 1 and its laggy
iOS 8 - 8.1.4: Bug fixes, new features
iOS 7 - 7.1: Huge design update

Mac Variants
El Capitan: iOS 8 of OSX. It comes with stability updates and makes the system a lot more usable.
Yosemite: Mixed options on it. Some say its good and some say otherwise.
Mavericks: I haven't used, but memory management seemed hell on my small experiences with it.

What's Linux?
Linux was originally developed as a free operating system for Intel x86–based personal computers, but has since been ported to more computer hardware platforms than any other operating system. It is the leading operating system on servers and other big iron systems such as mainframe computers and supercomputers, but is used on only around 1% of desktop computers. Linux also runs on embedded systems, which are devices whose operating system is typically built into the firmware and is highly tailored to the system; this includes mobile phones, tablet computers, network routers, facility automation controls, televisions and video game consoles. Android, the most widely used operating system for tablets and smartphones, is built on top of the Linux kernel.

What's Debian?
The Debian Stable distribution is one of the most popular for personal computers and network servers, and has been used as a base for several other Linux distributions. The Debian Testing and Unstable branches are rolling release and eventually become the stable distribution after development and testing (Unstable becomes Testing, and Testing becomes Stable).

Install Methods

Harmattan, Vision, Spectro, Google Now, Helix, Jelly, and eOS

Applications
Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Midori, and Waterfox
Utility: Wine, Tweak Tools, and gparted
Music: Clementine and ncmpcpp

Variants
Arch: Great choice, I love how fast the system is.
Debian: Solid, but its sluggish but that's the price you pay for a damn solid system.
elementary os: Pretty good for a new user. Lost its hype after its first major release.
Fedora: Yum is the victim here, but its not their fault since they based their system off of Red Hat.
Kubuntu: Great system, a bit bloated for a linux distro though.
Lubuntu: An alternative light choice for Xubuntu, I personally don't like the desktop.
Mint: It's become more solid in newer builds. Not as up to date as other systems but is pretty stable.
Xubuntu: Surprisingly good. Lacks what larger systems have but its light on resources and is fast.
KDE Neon: Fantastic. It's like Kubuntu but not bloated.

Desktop Environments
Cinnamon: Default with Linux Mint. Sluggish but has a similar UI to Windows.
Gnome: Ideal for tablets, good for desktops.
KDE: Features galore, best DE imo. It has seriously improved over time.
XFCE: Light, good on features.

Window Managers
awesome: Hard to get used to in my experiences, tiling is okay on it.
Blackbox: Pretty sure it hasn't been updated in awhile. Other then that, its probably one of the easier WM's to customize.
i3: Fast, Nice tiling features and workspaces from out of the box.
Openbox: Very open (no pun intended), lacking out of the box, though. It's very light on resources.

Windows 8.1: Better then 8, some people actually consider it good and some still don't.
Windows 8: Debatable on quality, some like metro, some don't.
Windows 7: Outdated, great OS at the time.

-snip-

Why do you have two copies of Firefox

it's a legitimate question

One is pinned on the taskbar, and the other one is the open browser.

are you gonna fix all the missing links in the OP? you should ask TBP to copy and paste the one from the other thread apparently you didn't even copy his in the first place so I'm kinda confused
One is pinned on the taskbar, and the other one is the open browser.
that's kinda weird and isn't supposed to happen
get rid of the original pinned one, then right-click on the open browser and hit "pin this program to taskbar"
