I don't have long nails. Basically they're nonexistent because i cut them so much.
There's no way that my nails could of done this. I'm getting pictures.
You can still scratch yourself with short fingernails. It just has to be at a different angle.

it's basically just unformal talk, as in you know what I'm trying to say when I use the word itch instead. Of course it isn't the proper use, but it gets the same message across.
