Tracking Bot v2

We don't need this, if the server you're on can't handle it then don't play on it. If the owner of the server wants to abuse it then that's his choice not yours.
This is loving stupid

Unless you want an actual aimbot to use in deathmatches (which this is not made for, go elsewhere if you want to cheat), there's no reason NOT to restrict it to a specific tool
And if you're using it for filming (which is what this is made for), then having it restricted to a single tool won't diminish it's usefulness at all.
In fact, doing this will add a lot to its usefulness, because you don't need to fill your (already extremely full for many people) keybindings up with even more bindings, just click with the tool out, and you don't need to restrict it to admins only

Garry's mod has a camera tool which does exactly this, and it's used pretty widely and no one ever complains "WOW WE SHOULD HAVE THIS FEATURE FOR ALL WEAPONS RESTRICTING IT TO ONE IS STUPID JUST DON'T PLAY ON SERVERS IF IT GETS ABUSED"

If a restriction was added and a person had intentions to use this abusively they could easily just change the code. Even so, this is an admin only script. The host and his admins have so many other powers, why don't we stop them all? By your logic, we should restrict the ban button, because admins can abuse it and ban innocent players! Quick, get rid of placing bricks as admins can block people in them! Disable the F8 key as the host will abuse it! Disable the /fetch command as admins can kill players with it!

If a host is seen abusing this and being a friend on his server: 1. Everybody would leave this server and the host would just be forced to quit 2. A drama topic would be made showing how abusive this person is, and how you should ban him.

The exact same thing happens when a host is just simply abusing a default function.

-snip-
What if the person is using it to film and they want a shot of them holding a sniper, about to snipe someone.

What the forget are you talking about lol
Tying it to a tool would provide a way for all users to use it, not just admins. That's the exact opposite of what you're saying

What if the person is using it to film and they want a shot of them holding a sniper, about to snipe someone.
A perfectly valid case that I didn't think about
You could have both solutions: a non-firing tool for all users, and a usable with weapons version for admins

Updated
-added offset of aiming on an object
-fixed a multitude of glitches and cleaned up code
-can now track almost any object with added keybinds

in regard to all this abuse prevention discussion, its going to simply remain super admin only and if people abuse it because you have a plethora of untrustworthy super admins then thats your fault for being stupid

Does it automatically offset on players when they crouch?

Does it work on bots?
Cause if not you should totally do that.

/AimObj - Locks your aim to the object your looking at
/AimObjId - Locks your aim to a supplied object ID
Yes.

It's not about "abuse prevention"
It's about giving a way for non admins to use it as well

Headcrab, quick tip. If a super admin abuses his powers, it's not a good server. If a host abuses his powers, it's not a good server. If you have people as admin, who can't handle the responsibility of being admin, then you're simply stupid. Making it a tool is not a good idea, because players are clever like that. This is why you only have very few Super Admins. You keep the admin title worth something.

This + Rapid Fire 880 Rifle.

not reading anything
or what

Lol, you people aren't even reading for comprehension any more. Let me tell you what he's trying to say.

HE WANTS IT TO BE USEABLE BY EVERYONE ON THE SERVER IF GIVEN THE PROPER TOOL.

Also, @swollow: I think there should be a function in which you can make it track linearly adjusted instead of just linearly, and also one for offsetting the camera. In film, there are very few shots (unless close up) where the person on screen is track in one spot on-screen - especially not in the center. The offset function would just add or subtract to the angle between the camera and the player. The adjusted linear tracking would track at a speed faster or slower than the player - basically, if the player starts on the right side of the screen, and starts moving to the left, and the adjusted linear tracking is set to 0.8, the camera will follow the player at 80% speed. Much more cinematic, if you ask me.

This seems to crash my server on startup. Console.log attached.
