they're wires
they transport electricity (in this case imaginary)
you can make logic gates with that stuff
custom wires let you have more specific stuff happen when electricity goes through
i can't really think of a way it could be very accesible though, its kind of reaaally complex to do anything particularily noteworthy
i might be wrong though i haven't downloaded this i'm just assuming from what wires i've previously seen in Xalos's server so please correct me if i'm wrong
edit: apparently they run on events so maybe you could make stuff happen when electricity reaches something
which could be particularily useful for timed stuff maybe or just interconnected systems whatever funky stuff you might be doing with events
edit2: a good comparison would be redstone in minecraft, for the basic wire anyway.
