Just as I walk back indoors, a thickly-accented voice comes over the PA system, calling all pilots of the 514th to report to briefing room 2. On the way there, I stop by my room, drop off any items I don't need and holster my service pistol.

I make it to the briefing room not a moment too soon. Three other people are already here before me.

I won't be on my pc but I have my loadout. Will probably be going on the mission slightly later on account of mechanical problems even though that is unlikely if your character puts in extra maintenance time to keep the plane in good shape.

Bell heads to the briefing room, after closing an access panel on the fuselage of her aircraft.

Right as I'm about to fall asleep, the intercom crackles, saying Mjolnir flight needs to head to briefing room 2. I get out of bed, clothes still on, and head to the briefing room.

loadout is the same as what's on the loadout sheet

I make it to the briefing room not a moment too soon.
I get to the briefing room in around 8 minutes.
I close the manual, leave it in my room, and head down to briefing.
I arrive in the briefing room some five minutes after the announcement.

(I am going to just assume the entire flight actually went to the briefing, but since you people actually posted you've basically reserved slots for the mission.)
The Kintharian officer giving the briefing is so unbearably dull that you almost fall asleep, but as you are able to pay enough attention that you understand the situation. A joint Kino-Mercanan task force is currently under siege in the city of Qenton, a city whose surrounding highways make it the linchpin of the Mercanan supply line. If it falls, Pact forces will have essentially driven a wedge between southeast and southwest Mercana and made it that much harder for either side to receive reinforcements or supplies from the other. To this end, the Huitzitlaotani have committed to this assault the H.E.V. Cuauhtlan, a Maglev Dirigible that has been armored, armed, and repurposed for loitering fire support. Its heavy guns have been hammering allied positions, and they lack the firepower to bring it down. This is where you all come in. Your objective is to fight through the air cover and take down this titanic gun platform before our forces are wiped out or surrender.

Everyone participating please check the pilot roster and let me know if I have you written down using the wrong plane. Then make sure your loadout calculator is accurate. When everyone's ready (or at least the majority of you, I know everyone can't always be on the forums at all times), you can take off.

NAUC's standard issue sidearm for pilots is a compact .40 pistol with a mag capacity of 12 rounds. It's better than nothing, but you won't win a firefight with it.

Qwepir, I'm using my Mirage 2000C for this mission, instead of the MiG.

i'll change that, but why
there are perfectly serviceable MiGs available

I head out to the hangar and suit up, then hop in my plane and taxi out to the runway.
"Tower, this is Talisman, requesting takeoff permission."

Yet again, I've ended up in the tarmac queue behind Talisman.

I rp'd that the MiG that they gave me was in storage and had been for some time. I didn't know how to handle the transitions.

I snag some pittle packs just in case real duty calls, suit up, and climb into my Mirage. It's already been loaded. The engine whines then it turns over to a screech.

A marshaller helps me taxi to the runway. I find myself behind Talisman and another aircraft.

One by one, you are all granted clearance to take off, and before you know it you've rendezvoused with Kelton (who was suspiciously absent from the briefing) and are on your way to the combat zone. After a few minutes of flying, you are contacted by the Mercanan AWACS.

: Good to see you, Mjolnir Flight. Taiho flight is engaging the enemy air cover, but they're in need of assistance. Patching you through to their communications now.
: Mjolnir, you are characteristically late. I have lost five planes already, including two of our strike aircraft. You will help us fend off these escorts if there is to be any hope of destroying this monster.
: How charismatic.

You are too far out to see any of the specifics of the fight, but you can just barely make out the city on the horizon. If you have anything you want to say to each other before the combat begins, now is the time.

"AWACS, what's the situation ,what are we facing aside from the air-barge thing?"

: That "air-barge-thing" is your primary target, but it has an escort of fighters defending it. Can't get an exact number, but Taiho took a chunk out of them already. Do not engage the enemy ground presence, they are not your objective.

"How heavily armored is this... barge? I may need you to rearm my coaxials with armor penetrating munitions, AWACS. Otherwise I'd just be giving its crew a fireworks display... and if I can't engage ground targets, I'm partially useless without penetrating ammo. This is all, of course, only true if the barge is armored enough to withstand high explosives from a UAC/2."
