i need simple steps on map making!!

can someone post some steps on making maps.. like the order of how do do things and what programs i need? i kinda know you need torque constructor.. but what do you use to make landscape like mountains and water?

Hows about you look through every other post in map making help. About half of them are the same thing you are asking.
