Help / Re: Fonts
« on: July 15, 2012, 06:16:14 AM »
Pretty sure it's most of the default ones you'll find on your computer, just try it out...

<font:fontname:fontsize>

Common/"Websafe" ones;
Impact, Arial Black, Times New Roman, Verdana, Courier New.

Not common, but quite a nice one, dunno if it works on BL, but   Copperplate Gothic Light

I'd say just try it.

Help / Re: Whats wrong with my Anti aliasing?
« on: July 10, 2012, 12:29:57 PM »
You have set the launcher to antialias, not the program itself I think. You want C:\Users\NAME\Documents\Blockland\Blockland.exe

As for the texture pack you either need to read-only the files or install the support file for other textures (I forget who made it).

Thanks, I'll do that. I don't have much information on it at the moment since, well I bought it quite a few years ago and I don't remember when I last used it, but I'll do what I can.

Just a question but any idea how long this would take?..

He got back to me quite quickly (day or 2), but don't spam his inbox.

Help / Re: Before portforwarding, what should I try?
« on: July 03, 2012, 08:04:56 AM »
Alright, so first off, my parents are paranoid about portforwarding, and my mom thinks that portforwarding allows other "users" to hack in to our internet (all the computers in our house) and attack them with viruses, trojans, etc. I hate how my mom is paranoid like that, so I'm just asking, What should I try/do BEFORE portforwarding?

Port forwarding is about as safe as anything else, all it's doing is redirecting certain traffic to your computer.

Unless you can port forward or enable UPnP, the chances are you won't be able to host an internet server for blockland.

Add-ons and saves now live in Documents/Blockland     not   C:/Program Files/Blockland or C:/Blockland.

I port forwarded once, but it wasn't for Blockland, it was for something else. Would I have to do it for Blockland?

You either need to port forward or enable UPnP. One or the other.

He is able to change the email associated with a key, if you can prove you are the owner of the key.

He did it with mine, I pm'd him in the forum. Make your message concise and make the subject obvious.. "Linked email change request for ID ****". Explain how you don't have access to that email account any more etc. Try to give info about like when you last used your key and when you bought and what you used to buy if you can... it all helps prove you are the owner.

The fact you are contacting from a linked forum account helps.

Help / Re: No players can enter my server
« on: July 01, 2012, 02:50:03 PM »
Ping: 12ms
DL Speed: 1.47Mbps
Upload Speed: 1.66Mbps

Ping is relative; it is simply the time it takes for a packet to transfer between the server and the client, that value you have stated is irrelevant.

The download speed is somewhat slow, however the upload (unlike previously stated) is actually considerably better than all ADSL lines generally offer; the way ADSL lines function, means that upload will always be slower than download. My speeds at home generally run at around 6mbs download and 0.2mbs upload and I can host generally fine for sandbox games (shooters sometimes lag a bit, but other than that it's fine).

You should post a picture of your port forwarding rule along with a picture of "ipconfig" into command prompt.
And just check you have set an exception up in your firewall.

General Discussion / Re: 4th Of July Party

3. The fireworks might lag everyone to death As long as it's not excessive, it won't

4. you need to have some really good players clicking those buttons to make the fireworks look GOOD. Pre program it all, all on timers, only one big go button, that way you could even program it to music

No none option?

you might not want to use my server i have way too many add-ons.
Disable some?

The recent trend of "concerts" in blockland, to me, seems insane.

I would like to see the firework display, I've only ever seen one or two good ones pulled off, the rest being admins just manually mashing buttons.

Good luck doing all of your planned builds in less than a week.

I am not against Badspot's.  I am just against the ones that are at the top 24/7
The reason that it will be at the top 24/7 is because people enjoy them. If people really think that your server was that good, they would join it.

It is up to the server host to make the server attractive; the reason people join these dedicated servers is because people enjoy them. Dedicated servers add a touch of stability to whatever world you are playing in.

Take, for example, Badspot's Block Party, do you have an issue with that? That's a prime example of a dedicated server. There can be between 0 and 32 players but it keeps growing, it's  enjoyable with very few or lots of players.

If you host just another "freebuild" or "tdm" or anything generic, don't expect people to join unless they are your friends. If you want to host a tdm that people join, make a post for it on the forums, make a nice build for it and layout a good post about it.

Help / Re: BLOCKLAND CAUSED A KERNAL PANIC ON MY MAC
« on: June 25, 2012, 06:44:03 PM »
It was running fine before. And what do processors have to do with antimalware?
Processes, not processors.

I still believe you should try updating drivers.
For your intel card - http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

Looking at your ram/processor (2gb and dual core 1.85), i'd think you should be able to run blockland, however they are very low specs for recent computers. I'm not quite sure the system resources that are used by OSX. Did it crash when you were doing something quite arduous? Like setting off lots of physics or explosions at once? or having a lot of bricks ghosted?

What?! Read the topic next time. I do not have antimalware. I said that in Lion you get antimalware.
Still, you will have other processes running, to think otherwise is naive.

I am not going to update drivers. My computer is too old.
This is no excuse to not update your drivers, drivers are specific to the hardware your computer contains

I am sure it's not hardware failure because my computer functions fine befor and after
As I said, "Just because your computer is running fine now, doesn't mean there isn't an underlying hardware issue."
