the guy jumped and started holding his ears cause of the sound.
That's me now. My ears are pretty sensitive (to pain, my hearing isn't any better than normal) so I hope to keep them this sensitive into my old age. No reason for me to do permanent damage to my hearing for $17/hr

some people dont give a forget because they are already half deaf anyways and the sound doesn't bother them.
"Lol that's not loud" ~ Coworker that was in the army, repeated by other coworker who apparently shoots guns without ear protection

So I recently got a job as a guy who delivers, installs, and mounts TVs and other devices. I often work with power tools and ladders. Me and my coworkers don't get paid hourly, we get paid a piece rate for every job completed, so we're incentivized to work as fast as we can.

However, I am protective of my soft, stuffty body. So whenever I'm working with someone and I insist on wearing my helmet on the ladder (which is company policy), or put on gloves to lift heavy things (to avoid cutting my hands, and the cushion helps my endurance with the weight), or put on ear protection when we drill (metal on metal screeching is LOUD), or even decide to put on safety glasses when we're cutting wood or drywall, my coworkers just give me annoyed looks or sighs or make comments about it. Even the one clumsy motherforgeter that keeps cutting his hands won't wear loving gloves.

I get that everyone wants to get done and get out, but goddamn if they don't give me stuff for spending a few seconds to put on some basic gear. I'd rather not get tinnitus from this stuff, but they always make it sound like only a child would worry about such things. Maybe REAL MEN just take their progressive disabilities from work LIKE A MAN and don't complain about it. Anyone else deal with this stuff?

It's more like a never-ending high school reunion now than an actual community.
That's one hell of a way to put it. It's accurate, everyone just sticks around for the memories and nostalgia.

Remember, you're here forever.

ideally there should be a single secular state there with equal rights there for everybody i think. if we somehow got to that point i think a lot of zionists would leave the country
That would be ideal, but it's a distant dream when the nations with land claims all have theocratic governments. Man, it sure would be funny to see Biden pull the rug out from under Israel and revoke all support.

i know the history well. they only bought land at first but in 1947 the UN granted them 56% of the land between the river and the sea despite them being only 1/3 of the population there. this was done with almost no consideration towards the desire or land claims of the palestinian population. the arabs that the UNSCOP surveyed didn't want there to be a partition at all but they did it anyway.
this sparked the israeli "war of independence", in which 700k palestinians (80% of the population) were violently expelled from their homes forever. this is not disputed by mainstream israeli historians (source)

Palestinians have every reason to fight against this bullstuff, but I don't think they'll shy away from avenging the decades of bloodshed if they get the upper hand. What do you think a peaceful solution could look like?

Armageddon was the original "EVERYONE IS HERE!" I just wish that they would've continued with that plotline instead of using Blaze as an excuse to go back in time.

This entire conflict has been like a car crash in slow motion, we could've stopped it before but now it feels like we're a bit powerless to stop it. We can stop it in theory, but that stuff ain't happening no matter how many people say #freepalestine on Twitter or TikTok. These people hate each other's guts, and they're both so entrenched in their lands that both of their only win conditions are "kill everyone from the other side" and have been for the last few decades. This sort of generational hate cannot be calmed by fancy words.

There will be no peace until either side is wiped out, or they're both occupied by yet another nation as a "policing action" to try and stop the violence through even more violence.

All that being said, zionists and sharia-adherent muslims both suck. I hope the fighting leaves one dead and the other near death.

General Discussion / old Team Deathmatch saves
« on: December 03, 2023, 05:05:56 PM »
Does anyone have any old saves that they'd be willing to upload, along with a list of what bricks they use? I'm really itching for some TDM in Blockland, and I'll host it myself if no one else is doing it.

I'll take any map (because i'm awful at building) but would anyone happen to have Heedicalking's old TDMs? I remember his being some of the best. (Bonus: His original Slopes TDM for maximum nostalgia)

his other one that I remember him by is with the purple suit and pirate hat w hooks and peglegs
I'll use that for now, just to differentiate him from Betel. I learned that Greek2Me is moderating the blockland subreddit so I'll PM him there.

I thought that was Betelgeuse? Ravencroft has that same avatar with the name "Betel" in one of the images in his signature. But now that I think of it, I do think I remember Yaranaika staring down at me from a window as I played falling tiles...

Last year I learned that the Queen of England died on Rarity day, so I dusted off the tablet to commemorate the occasion. (I'm not very good at art)

(rarity is best pony btw)
