So basically my reasoning with this is to choose a new time period ever week (1920's, 200 AD's etc.). In that time period I will choose a warrior. Now the job for you all is to give me facts about the warrior, their weapons, etc. Now let us start with a time period.

Time Period: Medieval

Warrior: Janissary

Weapons:

Facts:
- They were turkish slaves who were trained to be sharpshooters.
- They were archers at first but then they adopted the use of firearms.

Off Topic / So I had bad grades this semester.
« on: January 14, 2013, 12:35:56 AM »
So this grading period I got some very low scores. This is what it looked like (U is the worst grade you can get)
Language Arts- D
Math- U
General Music- B+
Social Studies- C-
Computer Literature- A
French- A
Health- A

So basically my mom has gotten mad at me for my grades. I know that this is all my fault for doing this but here's the thing, she's decided to look, go through, and micromanage everything I do now, which she's done before and it lowered my grades when she did it. I also didn't receive a lot of work in my LA class, as I was out sick for 3 days, asked for HW/CW, and didn't get any work. Now my school is very weird as in the sense that people cheat off of you, and if you get good grades they think you're a nerd and you're socially excluded. Any tips on what to do to improve my grades but still be social?

So uh, topic title. I have a social studies report due on europe, I'm writing about the
June Rebellion, WW2, some stupid travel guide, and then I have to choose a European country to do a poster on. My mind says UK but my heart says France.

Off Topic / The Diabetes Thread- Type 1 & Type 2 are not the same.
« on: December 17, 2012, 11:40:57 PM »
Hello fellow diabetics. I hate bringing my diabetes into threads about sickness's so I decided to just make a thread for it. One thing I want people to know is this: Type 1 & Type 2 are not the same. People have a misconception that if you have Type 1 you got it from being fat, while it is not.

Type 1: In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life. Only 5% of people with diabetes have this form of the disease. With the help of insulin therapy and other treatments, even young children with type 1 diabetes can learn to manage their condition and live long, healthy, happy lives.

Type 2: Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. Millions of Americans have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and many more are unaware they are at high risk. Some groups have a higher risk for developing type 2 diabetes than others. Type 2 diabetes is more common in African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, and Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders, as well as the aged population.

In type 2 diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin. Insulin is necessary for the body to be able to use glucose for energy. When you eat food, the body breaks down all of the sugars and starches into glucose, which is the basic fuel for the cells in the body. Insulin takes the sugar from the blood into the cells. When glucose builds up in the blood instead of going into cells, it can lead to diabetes complications.

Off Topic / Advice guide to picking a Operating System: V2
« on: November 04, 2012, 03:23:58 PM »
Basically, a long time ago I made a OS Thread. I admit the OP sucked. Now I'm going to try and make a better OP.

Windows:
Windows Vista:
Successor to Windows Xp, it was released on January 30, 2007. It included many new features to the Windows OS like a new GUI and multimedia tools. Windows Vista primary focus was improved security. Some criticism of Windows Vista is it's high system requirements.
Summary: Don't get Windows Vista if you have a stuffe computer.

Windows 7:
Released on October 22, 2009, it introduced a lot of new features like Vista did. It's new features included a new taskbar, Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, and more.
Summary: Sometimes Windows 7 can cost some money, but it's a pretty good OS all in all

Apple/Mac:
OS X:
OS X is commonly named after big cats like mountain lion. Although OS X commonly has updates the first version was released in 1999. It originally ran on PowerPC-Macs, but in 2006 Intel Macs could run OS X.
OS X V. 10.7 was the first version to have 32 bit and 64 bit Intel processors.

Linux:
Linux is a very diverse system, so there are many types for many different people. There are Linux OS's for server hosters and other stuff. Since it would be hard to show you every single OS that Linux has created, I will give you the link so you can look through it and decide for yourself.

« on: October 06, 2012, 03:32:21 PM »
I was on Cysero's Medieval RP server when I joined the guards, Selene letting me. Now I'm going around just minding my own business in the RP saying hello to people and some people from the past trying to get revenge on my character.
Then when I'm in a battle with somebody this starts happening-

(my character is Abram)
You might be saying mlockha why do you think that admin orb that is in your face is ThinkInvisble?

Because of this-

And this-

You might think that's the same image but it's not.
I was just trying to RP but these admin orbs made it hard too.

Off Topic / My bus ride home is weird.
« on: September 09, 2012, 06:35:31 PM »
So the bus ride home from my school is weird. To the depot from school there's this one girl who's really pale, knows Japanese and is in 7'th grade. She said my eyes are beautiful. She also talks with all 6'th graders in the front of the bus. Then the bus ride to home where one kid (who's way shorter then me) fell asleep on my shoulder. There's a ton of other weird stuff like big black girls talking in the back and my bus driver having a loving hugeeeeeee bottle of diet Mt.Dew that looks very strangely like pee and she drinks it. My bus(es) rides are weird.

Description- Sleeping Dogs is a 2012 open world action-adventure video game developed by United Front Games in conjunction with Square Enix London Studios and published by Square Enix, released on August 14, 2012, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Sleeping Dogs takes place in Hong Kong and focuses on an undercover operation to infiltrate the Triads.

So basically, you are a undercover cop who gets taken into the triads and is ordered to do WHATEVER necessary to infiltrate and destroy the Triads. You can still get arrested and chased by cops. You meet a lot of intresting characters and you may gain some emotional ties and be sad sometimes. Sometimes you may get sickened, but this game is loving awesome.
My brother brought this game and then taught me how to play. It's fighting style is similar to arkham city and asylum but with more focus on counters and grappling. You do get guns but not until a while into the game. The game and storyline isn't that long but you can also do drug busts, help people and gain your face level (which let's you wear classier clothes, and gives you cool upgrades).
