One hundred years have passed since the Spellplague forever changed the magical and mysterious lands of Faerûn. Mighty empires fell and great cities toppled, leaving only monster-haunted ruins and survivors struggling to rebuild.

The city of Neverwinter, the Jewel of the North, seemed blessed by the gods. While the rest of the Sword Coast was devastated by the event, Neverwinter survived largely intact. But this was only a temporary reprieve from its inevitable doom. Nearly 75 years later, a volcanic eruption rained fire, ash and molten fury upon the city, annihilating everything in its wake.

Today, Neverwinter has restored much of its former glory. Lord Neverember of Waterdeep has taken the city under his protection and put forth a call to all adventurers and heroes of the Savage North to help rebuild Neverwinter in the hopes that one day he can lay claim to her throne and crown. But evil forces conspire in the dark places of the world, seeking to undermine all...

Is this the same DnD as before? Or a new game? Because DnD was great until I realized there's a certain point where you have to start paying to go any futher

Completely different game.

Me and my friends used to run around yelling "I've got a GRUUUUESOME task for ya"

Actually looks fun, downloading

I'm gonna be honest...
Dungeons and Dragons never got anywhere in England. It has never really been available for retail in stores and I know nobody who plays it. Therefore when anyone mentions it, you imagine fat virgin neck beards sitting in their parents basement playing it.
In my early years of secondary school (age ranging from 11-13) I played World of Warcraft. Once getting to the highest level at the time, I got bored of the game and stopped playing.
Three years ago I played SWTOR, the starwars blatant copy of WoW, which got about three months enjoyment out of it before I had lots of top level characters and the best gear in the game.

The reason I am telling you this is because what I have experienced for Neverwinter, is an innovation in gaming. Not only does it hold classic elements which you'd find in WoW, it also takes ideas from SWTOR but making it feel like you're playing a completely different game.
Everything is more logical and it isn't a "pay to win" game since its relatively easy to play in itself.
There are some bad points about this game, but overall I've really been enjoying myself and I recommend anyone who enjoyed WoW to play this game (you can always un-install it if you don't like it!)

Hope that clears things up with people.

It's a fun game but i'm pretty certain you'll get nowhere without friends.

I have been a little bored playing by myself but no way near as boring as Lord of The Rings Online.
Pass showed me this game and we sometimes play together :)

Oh a little heads up, download it from steam, not their website!
PM me if you want to be added to the OP
