You could have split the statue into sections and duplicated it onto the base like the French did.  :cookieMonster:

How exactly would I split the statue into sections?

I'm pretty sure there isn't a 5000 brick limit, if you get RTB and change server preferences.

Ummmmm, I'm not that experienced yet.  I don't even know what RTB is.

You can change the look of the eyes using the ultimate tool called the hammer and then replace them with your brick tool.

In my defense, if I did copy the save of someone elses model, how would I move it onto my base?  You might say I used the "duplicator" tool, but that has a 5000 brick limit (the statue is wayyyyyyy over 5000 bricks).  What i'm saying here is that all the other models do not have a base and it would be impossible for me to move the saved model.

Finally, my first real game build.  You heard me, my first.  So obviously, it took me a while to build this...about over a month of playing an hour a day.  While building, I regretted choosing such a big build as my first.  :cookieMonster:  Well enough chat, lets get to the pics.

So here is the whole thing.  As you can see, its huge.  Originally I built it on Slate, but moved it into the kitchen to show the size of it.

Here is a closer look at the base which I designed by looking at a wikipedia image.

Here is a closer look at the statue itself.  I did this with trial and error.  At first i decided to use a statue which looked like a blockland avatar, but I decided that wouldn't be as cool.

A more detailed look at the face.  It doesn't look the way i wanted it to come out, but I lost steam by the end of the model.

The torch.  I used fire in the torch at first, but I didn't like the way it came out so i built it in bricks.  Ps.  DOF pictures really look cool!

Yep, that's it.  I still have much to improve with my building skills and remember this is my FIRST build.  Feel free to rate x/10.

what card do you have?

I'm pretty sure my graphics card is fine because it can run "orange box" games without any trouble.  My computer also has a very fast cpu rate.

Gallery / Demo Build: The Old West
« on: March 18, 2010, 05:47:25 PM »
You guessed it! Once again, here is another demo build which I finished with no bricks left.  Yeehaw!

"Howdy partner, yer new in town aren't yah?"  There are three buildings; a bank, a general store, and a saloon.

First, I'll start with the bank.  I liked how the sign came out on top.  It had a simple design while still looking old westernish.

Here is the interior.  You can see that the bank clerk would be behind the barred window.

The other side of the barred window.  "Heh Heh, the money is safe with me!"

Next is the general store. I didn't have enough pieces to put the "general" in "general store".

Here is the interior.  Once again, it's fairly simple. (yes, i know there weren't pistols back then!)

Next is the saloon which is my personal favorite.  It has old fashioned doors which are non-collidable.

"Hit MEH!"

Don't forget the saloon piano!

Well that's the whole town!  Feel free to rate x/10 but remeber it's a demo build. Also tell me which one is your favorite.   See ya later partner!

You have a great talent, for how new you are to blockland/demo blockland. You're like my brother, stuck with the demo. He is about the same building skill as you. And to answer your need, I may buy you a blockland key to see what you can do with the fullexperience. Keep up your determination, and skill annd you will be a legend.

Seriously though, you should spend the money on your brother, not on some guy you found on the forums.

I like the way the car wash looks like. :O
I agree, I liked how the swirl effect came out.

Hello again, and welcome to my latest demo build: The Blockland Gas Station!  I had no pieces left when I finished.

The gas station includes a car wash, gas pumps, and even a shop!

Here is the car wash.  The red and green buttons on the side control the water.

Might as well get my dirty jeep cleaned up...

OMG TOO CLEAN!

Here are the gas pumps.  I had trouble making them look  good while at the same time keeping them simple.

Here is the shop.  In my opinion, it came out pretty good for a demo.

"The Blockland Gas Station will take care of your every veichle need!"

I liked how good the shelf looked with all the supplies on it.

"Okay, maybe not your EVERY veichle need."

Well, that's it, but once again, this is a demo build.  Feel free to rate x/10!

Oh please, you do not need to spend money on the key.  I want to be known for my demo builds alone.

I'm afraid that this doesn't apply to us demo builders...XP

Once again, this is a demo build.  I copied the design from the Lego Beach House.

Here is the front.  I had trouble deciding what color I should use.

Here is a better view of the exterior.  I had to make the roof out of square bricks because of the brick limit.

Next is the interior.  It looks sorta ugly, but it's bearable. (i don't really want to use that word)

"Who needs a tv when you have a fire place?"

The stairs had to be thin because they took up too much room as it is.

Here is the top floor bed. "Who needs a fireplace when you have a psp?"

Yep, thats it!  Feel free to rate x/10 but keep in mind this is a demo build.  Until next time!

So just out of curiosity, I wanted to ask this poll so I can have some statistics of what kind of people are on the forums.  Sorry everybody, but I'm gonna stay with the demo.  (demo building is my trademark)
