Off Topic / I am now 19 years old
« on: January 27, 2017, 12:12:17 AM »
Yep. I'm officially 2 years off from being a booze-compatible manly man.

I have made no use of any of the rights that I gained from becoming 18 and I'm already 19. Time feels so short when I look back on it.

Discuss my birthday or anyone else's or birthdays in general, I guess.

General Discussion / Testing new Counter-Strike based minigame (CLOSED)
« on: December 19, 2016, 10:56:26 AM »
EDIT: server was closed because more bugs were found that I couldn't have found by myself. Thank you to those that helped find them.
the minigame will continue to be ironed out over the next while and I'll see if I can get an actual CS map instead of just an edited Afghan over the next couple of weeks.

Hey. I've recently finished editing together a little Counter-Strike inspired minigame I thought I'd share here.

The map is an edited Afghan. Here it is to give you a general idea of how it works:
(The blue says "Counter-Terrorist Spawn" if the contrast is a tad too high for you to read)

The only thing I can really take credit for are the C4 and their events, the new spawn bricks and the deletion of the old ones, and the invisible wall now surrounding the place. (no more rocket launchers either, sorry.)

The game is your generic bomb threat coupled with 1 life elimination if you want to play that way. However, it's much more simplistic than the inspiration. Some notable differences you might notice if you're used to the Counter-Strike variation:

1. the bombs are armed and disarmed instantly. This is a result of me taking shortcuts through eventing, though I have a few ideas for making ones that take time to arm and disarm if people really want that.

2. Even if a bomb is at 1 second left to blow, if the last terrorist dies, the CTs win. I don't know how to event this otherwise off the top of my head so this is how it is. Defend that bomb with your life.

3. Everyone has the same weapons. Nailgun, Shotgun, and a Sniper rifle. There's a sword too, but why use it?
(Why are police forces using nailguns? I don't know.)

4. There is no friendly fire. I will not enable friendly fire. Do not ask.

5. All rounds last 5 minutes. Arming the bomb adds another minute to the timer, though it will end before then.

6. Any of the terrorists can arm the bomb by clicking the red *. Any of the CTs can disarm the bomb by clicking the blue * that appears after it is armed. Both bomb sites cannot be armed at once.

If you guys wanna come hop on and try it out and see if it's fun, give it a shot. This is just something I took a few hours to whip together out of boredom and I hope you guys enjoy it if you come and play. Give me some tips and feedback on ways I could improve future gamemodes if you want. Or don't.

Off Topic / Thanksgiving (is over!)
« on: November 23, 2016, 04:24:21 PM »
Title. Thanksgiving is coming tomorrow, so what are you guys going to be doing then?
just you wait for that one commie bastard to reply saying "OH I DON'T CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING"
I'm going to be spending some time at my grandfather's house eating turkey and things.

Also, if you guys want, post about what you're thankful for this year.

I'd like to give most of my thanks to Clownfish, Nick, Steve Jenkins, and everyone at their discords, you guys are cool and help make my life more bearable than you think.

I'm also thankful for my family who has done so much for me despite being in a weird situation like I am and I'm very grateful for all that they've done, even if they might never read this, it feels good to talk about.

I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving.

Off Topic / Post Users You Like V.another one
« on: August 14, 2016, 02:20:00 AM »
Read the title. Post about users around here that you enjoy the company of or aren't total richardweeds.

Credit to Limerick (Whackin) for making the last "Post Users You Like" topic, that was good.

I think it wouldn't be as fun if I just copy-pasted my list, so I'll make up an entirely new one here. Everyone from the last list and a couple new additions will be here.

Ahead - the squidface himself, I really would have regret it thinking back if I never joined Sky's discord just for the simple fact of meeting you and the usual crew, you're an amazing person.

Charles - Your humor is great and I'm glad you're around. Besides, you got me to watch P&S and that was one of the best experiences that I can't share with my parents ever.

crazy - dude you're loving crazy need I say more (x2)

Flaire - All jokes aside, you are also one of the greater people that I've met, and I'm glad to have met you.

Doughboy: I'M SORRY IT WAS A MISTAKE PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME

Gamer (Prjizevire???????) - Having known you since the blockland discord, I don't care what anyone says about you, you're one of the cooler ones, too.

Hodot - dude you're hodot

Infinite Phantasm
- I enjoy your humor as well and I think you're a nice person to be around, and while I haven't connected with you enough to get a clear picture, I still feel everything I've seen about you has been positive.

Limerick (Whackin) - The entire reason you weren't on the last list was entirely because I forgot. While I am not the person to go to for may-mays, I still appreciate the person you are beyond all that, so thank you.

Maxwell - As with most other people on here your humor really appeals to me and like I said in the last list you and Ahead chipped in to the getting me my inkling avatar I use in places and you guys don't know how much that meant to me, and regardless if it's the same to you, playing minecraft with you and everyone else was seriously one of my better memories.

Maplelink - You were and still are one of the nicest people I met and I still hope you remain that way for as long as you live.

McJob - It takes a really special person to seamlessly blend education and entertainment the way you do, so thank you for being the person you are.

Nawaji -  I could make a nep joke but instead I'll just say that you're really cool. You're really cool. You're fun to watch and hang out with so I appreciate you taking your time to do these things, not just for me but for everyone.

Nickpb (And by connection, his entire Glory Hole discord)
- Seriously, you and the guys there are some of the best most laid back people. I don't see this leaving the list in any near future.

Nonnel - (for educational use only)

Remurr - Your art is great and you're a pretty chill person as well, so I appreciate that.

Sky (Purple Metro)
- While your discord may be gone now, it was the first one I joined and in my eyes I'll never regret joining it either because I would have never met all the wonderful people on this list if I hadn't, including you.

Space Inaba (Clownfish)
- While I'm certain others would be quick to disagree, I still feel that, much like Sky's discord, yours has so many wonderful people on it that I'm very happy that every day I get to chat with them. I mean, even discord aside, much like Remurr I enjoy looking at your art and whether you know it or not you're a wonderful person and I genuinely believe you have had a very good impact on my life.

Tornado Kirby - While like most others you have a nice sense of humor, I appreciate the fact that despite that, I can hold a genuine conversation with you in the same beat.

XR-7 - You share your life with us more than most people do, or rather, you share your life with us in a way I can sympathize and understand, so I appreciate how much you are willing to do that.

I'll add more if I see fit.

Well, Forums, who do you like from this community?

...And if you want, say why.

Spread the cheer!

Off Topic / Zack's Thread of Riddles
« on: July 12, 2016, 02:01:24 PM »
Welcome to my thread of riddles. I've been meaning to make this for a long time after Akio's original thread on riddles sparked my interest in them.

I have for you today several riddles I have made up on the spot. Try all you want to google them, if you actually get an answer that way, I will be surprised.

You may post riddles as you wish as well, and may solve any riddles in the thread in any order, just be sure to quote the specific riddle you are solving.

If you're the first to solve the riddles in this OP, you will be listed below that specific riddle you solve like the true champion you are. Nice job.

Let's begin.

Here's an easy one to start us off with:

1) A farmer sows three seeds. The first seed takes a few days to sprout, the second seed takes several months to sprout, but the final seed takes a whopping 270 days to sprout.

The first seed would grow into a tomato bush, the second seed into a grand tree, but the third seed grew into something more special.

What grew from the third seed?

Solved by Jake White: A baby.

Another one:

2) I'm traded away to those you love the most.

Symbolically, you see, though I am very much real.

I keep you alive, my unthinking host.

My speed quickens with your zeal.

What am I?

Solved by Toxicology: A heart.

And lastly:

An ancient tool for hunting and war.

Considerable strength, I take to wield.

A long wooden shaft that forms the core.

It is me and my children you take to the field.

For if I alone, this item you bore,

It is certain you would be the first to yield.

What object do I describe?

Solved by Space1255: A bow.

Again, feel free to post your own riddles. And most of all, have fun.

April Fools 2016 / Guess who the forumer above you is
« on: April 01, 2016, 02:45:50 AM »
Read the title. Simple. Have some fun with this masquerade day, and try to guess who the person above you is, whether by how they type or just a total wild guess.

Don't be a loving cheater, and see if your guess is right.

Anyways, guess who I am.

Off Topic / It's official, forums. I'm legal.
« on: January 27, 2016, 12:01:02 AM »
Not even a minute off the mark, I am now 18 years of age, legally.

Happy birthday to me for whatever it's worth.

So, discuss this or the fair amount of birthdays this week.

Off Topic / What weird things do you do that somehow no one else does?
« on: January 15, 2016, 01:19:56 AM »
Exactly as the title says. I got bored and wanted to make an interesting (hopefully) topic.
Interpret the (no one else does) clause however you want.
I'll go first, obviously.

I actually sit down to use the bathroom, and opt to never use urinals, even if it's the only choice available. (which is weird for a guy, I guess?)

I strive to use proper grammar and word usage on an online forum where it usually doesn't matter. (Unless I don't want to intentionally.)

I actually pay attention in history class.

I like black coffee.

I dislike the taste of cantaloupes and similar fruits.

I like broccoli.

I wash my hands religiously, but the rest of my body...not as much.

I hope that's enough to get you guys started.

Off Topic / Another Year, Another Birthday.
« on: January 27, 2015, 02:19:03 PM »
As un-surprising as this may be, I've just recently turned seventeen today.
Huzzah for being alive a total of seventeen years and not dying yet.

So, please, discuss either my birthday or the forum's odd fascination with posting personal occurrences.

General Discussion / Almost 1400 posts...and no regrets.
« on: November 18, 2014, 03:46:43 AM »
That's right. I've completely forgot to do this topic at 1337 (leet) posts, but I figure this is a fitting number for a milestone aswell. I've been here for what seems like quite a long time, and thought a topic about my dedication (read: obsession) is in order.

What once started as a meager pass-time (pasttime?) is now a regular thing for me.

Ofcourse, I'm talking about you, Blockland Forums.

I've learned and changed so much since my original account oh so many years ago, and hope to learn and change some more in the future. And I'd be glad to have everyone here along for the ride.

Enough about my meaningless sentimental achievement, tell me about your post counts, or things you look foward to accomplishing here, forumers. Or perhaps discuss my odd fascination with communicating with total strangers so much.

Off Topic / Virus going around on Steam, here to warn you.
« on: November 15, 2014, 05:24:48 AM »
First, read this link:
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/2m8sl1/virus_going_around_steam_do_not_open_wtf_dude_link/

Another link for clarification on the filename, mostly for curiosity sake, and more story on the issue:
http://www.reddit.com/r/SteamGameSwap/comments/2ggr31/psa_scr_files_are_executable_like_exes_they_are/

Basically, when a person is affected, their account will send messages to all friends in order to infect them aswell.

If you see someone send you a message that looks like this:

(name): WTF Dude?
  <link to a website here>

Ignore it. Do not click it. It is a virus.

Two friends of mine on steam have already been affected. Please do not click the link.

Thanks for reading.
