Why a Xeon
Those are server processors no? Maybe he's hosting a server but I wouldn't see why you would need to with that gpu

Yeah, Xeons are for servers

xeons can be used for gaming. i've seen several youtube videos where people have been using them.

i don't know if it's actaully a good idea

I see so much hate on AMD, I use AMD on my budget build (very limited budget build) and it works just fine. Doesn't overheat either given that my room isn't above room temperature.

Too expensive for not enough benefit. They're great processors, but an i7 is already overkill.

Okay, I edited the list, I want to have two monitors, so

Now, this says it's $300 more expensive, but for some reason in the link you gave the prices weren't shown for the GPU nor the motherboard. Do you already have those?

Anyway, don't get that GTX 760. It makes no sense. For that much you could get a Radeon R9 290 or for $200 a GTX 960, which is slightly better than the 760, I think. Also, don't get a Xeon processor. Get an i5 4690k or 4670k. Xeons are server processors, and a $230 i5 will beat an $230 Xeon at gaming.

All of this is assuming you're creating a computer for gaming.

getting a new gpu soon :x

What GPU do you currently have?

sapphire 7770
Ah. I had an MSI 7770. Pretty good card for the price, but I think you'll enjoy the 960... :P

it's really not. server CPUs are made for server work, not gaming.

edit: check out this thread pls. i feel like i might be willing to take on a custom built if i can just find a lovey case and get some critique.

but server mobos lack all the cool bells and whistles. its not worth it for only the cpu power.

i was handed down a hd 5750
anyone wanna hand me down a better gpu *wink wink nudge*
but nah really this thing is so dirty in my sleek case :c
