what is your opinion on ICE detention camps and other humans being forcefully sterilized and separated from their families matthew
Horrible, awful. The Obama administration started this and his democrat buddies have pushed to allow this continue.
We should be sending them directly back to their sending countries and not leaving them in these obama-era facilities.
if democrats stopped holding up catch-and-release type nonsense, we could certainly get these people out of these awful Obama administration era facilities and back to their home countries.
And anchor babys shouldn't be legal either. This can't be retroactively revoked, but it shouldn't have ever been allowed in the first place. I know this would require a 14th amendment change, but it's really dumb that soil determines birthright and not citizenship trials or familial citizenship.
If your child is born in the US that shouldn't automatically grant your child a US Citizenship. If you're child is born under a set of parents with atleast 1 citizen between the 2 of them, then they should be considered a citizen, but that's a more complex issue if one of the parents immigrated illegally. But at that point you could argue in favor a marriage based naturalization.
Basically, obama era laws and systems have held these people prisoner, when they should be set free into their country of origin to await trial. Children born on US Soil shouldn't inherently be granted citizenship. Citizenship should be based on if the parents are US citizens. And if they're born off soil but the parents are US citizens that should be allowed also, although returning to the US and running for office as a child of these parents should be restricted. This cant be retroactively revoked, but this situation is no different than having someone's parents be arrested and sentenced to life in prison, except they can still visit them just not in the US.
