there is literally nothing stopping people within the company from just electing a CEO that's going to be a stuffhead anyways (i.e. Spotify employees crying about Rogan) I genuinely do not understand what point you're trying to make and I don't see what worker coops or unions have to do with big tech censorship? The employees are on board with the forgetery lmfao
this isn't a feature of capitalism either this is the end result of the revolving door between government and corporations, true cyberpunk stuff where the two have merged into an incestuous greed cult hellbent on mining every last cent out of us
i mean its just obvious that in a democratically run organisation, you can vote bad actors out of the ceo position or vote for good things within the company. (example: a resolution that changes the TOS)
it's literally impossible to oust jack from his position as the twitter CEO rn so he isn't accountable to anyone besides the shareholders and they don't care about anything but making more profit.
Worker owned coops are also not the only type of coop, there are customer/worker owned coops as well. In fact, I am part of one. At my bank, as a customer, I have (
by default) a share in the organization as a whole, I can vote on the managers and leadership, and I can bring my grievances to them in the monthly meetings.
My complaints, as well as the complaints of others, shape how the organization is lead and how the bank distributes its services and what it focuses on.
If Twitter where of the same model, every person that uses and works on the platform could give their opinions and run campaigns to change how twitter works as a service. They would then have democratic referendums to change the leadership/direction of the company.
This is a market socialist model, it is distinctly different from a capitalist one. This is why I prescribe capitalism as being at fault. It's one of the
distinctly capitalist elements of
how the corporation is organized that is causing the people using the platform to see it as a tyranny, because a "master-slave" corporation model is literally a tyranny under the CEO. No one else has the final say.
