Otto Von Bismarck makes a grand speech addressing the Diet, pushing for the fuhrer (heh) militarization of Prussian society. The military academy in Prussia graduates its third class of 1866. Otto Von Bismarck pushes the academy to accept more bright-minded lower class individuals to be trained and commissioned, citing that all Germans, not all Junkers (although he, himself, is one), are worthy for military service. Junkers are still going to graduate in a higher grade, due to their natural ability to lead.
A nursing academy is opened in Danzig to train women in first aid... these nurses will graduate as members of the Prussian Nurse Corps. (never in a million years to carry rifles though, God help us).
