as far as i know the shooter had an automatic rifle which are already illegal so even if you somehow got every gun that's currently legal banned and destroyed or something this guy would have still had the rifle since it's already an illegal weapon that he wasn't supposed to have in his possession

not to mention the impracticality of rounding up 320 million guns

according to ABC he didn't have an automatic weapon, he had a semi-automatic he had modified to bump fire. all the weapons he had with him he had legally purchased.

okay so to my understanding magazines that can hold a ton of rounds should be restricted from the general populace because no normal citizen actually needs something like that

really

time for the "let's make gun access more restrictive" circlejerk amirite fellas

Bump fire would explain why the shots didn't sound consistently paced right? Makes sense.

No, it doesn't. People don't use full-auto like in Hollywood. If you want to hit anything, you're going to fire in short bursts regardless.

if you're firing into a huge crowd it doesn't really matter. That and bullets can very easily ricochet off the ground if they hit at the right angle - take a look at this FBI training video, for example.

I'm not talking about the bursts of shots, I'm saying that in those bursts, the pacing of the shots was inconsistent

Watch this at around ~50 seconds

Fair enough, though I think the "inconsistency" is more of an audio glitch. Like how when a loud sound is played the sound levels are automatically adjusted.

I can't explain it well but I hope you know what I mean.

I know what you mean but I think that's not the case considering you can hear it across multiple different videos
