The initial beta release will be locked. While the apps can be freely downloaded, not everyone will gain immediate access. "Those who wish to join the beta just need to download the Steam app (free of charge) and log in to their Steam account via the mobile app to express interest in the beta," the announcement notes.

Suggestions & Requests / Making a vehicle un-enterable

I'd honestly love this. I'm creating a few DM maps and I'd love to place Vehicles as props in a way, but at the same time I don't want people stealing them and driving off. I could make the player auto-dismount, but that might cause issues with people dismounting into the line of fire.

I figure you could edit the vehicle's code, but I'm wondering if an easier alternative is possible.

Off Topic / Headset mic makes odd noises, mic cuts out lots.

This all started a few days ago when I was in an Xbox live party and everyone said my mic would crackle and pop. I didn't think much of it. Then I got on Skype and they said it was doing it there too. Oddly, audio input isn't affected at all. I think it could be the wires, because they got really tangled up. I tried to un-tangle them but soon as I let go of the wires they tangle themselves up again. It could be the mic, the mic on the headset can be detached.

Am I gonna have to buy a new headset? Headset is Tritton ax720, so that'd suck.

Off Topic / CritCIAm/Input isn't Trolling, Flaming, or Hating.

This isn't only about the Forums, it's just about the subject in general.

So, the question is, why do people think that Critisim is "Trolling" ,"Flaming" or "Hating"? It's honestly the thing that pisses me off the most. All the time I hear stuff like "He said my drawings need work, he's just a hater". Not everyone is going to loving sugarcoat everything. I understand it to a degree if they don't give any input other than "it sucks".  I don't mean just drawings or pictures either, I mean in general. It happens here, and on pretty much every website known to man. It tends to start with a new guy. He acts stupid and a more well respected member tells him how to act better. The new guy sometimes proceeds to call the respected member a troll or something and blames him for flaming. It really gets me mad because, they don't take any suggestions and they don't improve, which only makes it worse. If people would realize that there's room for improvement, I wouldn't have a problem.

IkeTheGeneric puts this all pretty well.

Criticism isn't 'trolling'
Advice isn't 'trolling'
Input isn't 'trolling'
Nobody is 'trolling.

If you want to be taken seriously and gain respect, think before you post, read what others are posting and refrain from making yourself an idiot.

Unless the exact quota of each aren't met (and they aren't exactly difficult to), you are not welcome here.

There is no ifs, ands or buts.

Also, this is kinda what sparked me to make the thread.

So, as for this I honestly do give him Critisim, and usually I try to be honest but nice. I don't 'hate' on him remotely, the worst I ever did was tell him once of the voiced he did in a video was bad and that he could make it sound better with a different actor.


Anyways, discuss or whatever. Just wanted to give my two cents.

EDIT: I should say it mostly annoys me when it's my input being taken as trolling. I had a DeviantART a looonnggg time ago and people would accuse me of trolling if I gave them a bit of Advice on how to improve their works. It doesn't bother me in the sense that it just happens though.

I do all the time. I saw this cool looking train station this summer, and I thought about how cool it would be to create it in Blockland or Source SDK. I never get to it though, I either don't feel like making it after being about 50% done, or I forget.

EDIT: The mic just completely cut out and I had to unplug it and plug it back in.

General Discussion / What type of TDM map size would the average player Prefer?

I'm just curious, as lately I've been wanting to make a TDM. Basically, I don't know if I want to make an Afghan Sized city, or use the map Sahara Desert as the battlefield. I'd still use Tier Tactical either way.

Also, I'll be running with a 24 player limit.

My plans for the Small sized map would, like I said, be about as big as Afghan. I'd likely put a few Civilian Vehicles like the SUV and Sedan and edit their speed to be slightly slower for the map. I'd likely make it FFA, or an Objective based TDM mode.

My plans for the Medium map are on Sahara Desert, with the Blue team attempting to invade and destroy a massive Red Base. I'd include Humvees, Helicopters, and Maybe a fighter jet or two.
The large map would also on on Sahara Desert, but with smaller bases and a neutral base or two in between. Vehicles would be the same as the Medium map, but just with more of them.

And those are my plans.

I just can't sit normally. I'm always perched on whatever chair I may be sitting in, that or I have my legs kicked back onto a table or something. Then one leg can be on the chair, and the other on a table. OR I sit "Indian style" or whatever it was called in Grade School. I don't feel like describing all the ways I sit, there's to many. It's not a bad thing, its just odd how I never sit with both legs on the floor infront of me.

Am I alone? :c

Games / Doodle or Die - Telephone with Drawings

 People draw richards and tits a lot, I'd recommend straying away if you have a problem with them.

(I kinda used the OP from facepunch)

You know how a game of telephone works? You whisper something to somebody, then they whisper what they heard to the next person in line, and so on and so on until the message gets really distorted. Doodle or Die works like that, except you describe a picture to somebody, and they have to re-create that picture using their own drawing skills. Or the other way around, someone describes a picture to you, then you have to draw it based on their description. The game alternates like that.

Share your experiences here. But don't be one of those starfishs who just writes "im not drawn that, cigarette" instead of drawing the picture, or describes someone's (theoretically) hard work as "sum stuffy drawling".

There is now a new version of the site in beta testing. It has a better interface, allows you to like or report people, lets you follow more chains(?) There's a Greasemonkey script to increase the colour pallet, ill put the link here is someone sends me it.
