Author Topic: Authentication Failed: Bad IP Address  (Read 4917 times)

Okay... this is a rather odd issue.
I've decided to start playing Blockland again, but when I put in my key on the authentication window, it shows this!:

But of course without those over-exaggerated boxes and letters I've put in to identify the problem.

What I have tried:
http://blockland.us/FAQ.html#j
http://blockland.us/FAQ.html#w <- I don't even have that device installed anyway
Checking if it was the game causing the problem (typed in 1111 1111 1111 1111 but it only says invalid key)
Checking for stealers - my account has been idle since January and I confirm this

Please help. D:

Did you try the recover code thing? maybe you wrote it wrong on the paper but right for the code.

This is something wrong with his IP.
Proxy, Tor, have any of those?

Anyways, tell us the solution when you get it.

Did you try to change your IP address?
and did you have caps lock or didn't capitalize the letters?

yes I found that out AFTER I POSTED AND THERE WAS NO MODIFY >:(

Check your networking, reset your router.

If networking says it has an Invaild IP Address , then most likely your DNS is messing with it.

I don't even know how to set up a proxy, and I have no idea what a Tor is.
I only have used web proxies such as Roxxo and Proxify though, but I don't think these affect Blockland.

By resetting the router I suppose it's turning it off then on after a few seconds - nothing's changed.
I'm checking the router's control panel thing (you know, the one you go port forwarding and stuff) right now

Shutup, you have no idea what you're talking about.

Found nothing relevant... I just looked around lol.

Any other suggestions? :panda:

It sometimes happens to me too, but I know exactly when and how to fix it in my case, but I don't know if it will work in your case.

When my external IP is 2.*.*.* it ALWAYS says Authentication FAILED: Bad IP Address.
But if I restart the router enough times, my external IP changes to  188.*.*.*, then it works fine again.

http://www.whatismyip.com/ You can check your IP there, try to restart the router enough times to change the first number.

The fun thing is that my bullforget of stuff ISP claims that I get Static IPs, but according to this, it seems my IP changed over time. Fun. :cookieMonster:

Yeah. I'll try to fix this deep at night, when nobody's mercillessly watching me like if I was a little child. :panda:

And yes, the current IP looks like it is a 2.*.*.*

I wonder why BL doesn't like it?

I wonder why too, maybe it's a bug?

Anyway, hope I helped :)

At least we know what the problem is.
Except we don't know how to fix it.
