Why did dq switch to using soda lids on their ice cream?

Like you used to get the dome lids that worked wonders when your blizzard was like 7% overfull and the lid when put under the cup would catch all the drips making a flawless presentation. Now it seems they have switched to using soda lids on the blizzards and they just smush down the ice cream that doesn't fit making messy and sticky. I'm just curious as to why?

i think your the dq near you might be running low on cash and can only afford soda lids cause my local dq is normal

They got a huge tower of the dome lids that also fit on the sundaes so idk the place stays really busy all the time.
I want my ice cream to look like ice cream not stuff in a soda cup >:c /pouts

I hated dome lids. You cant eat out of it and if you take it off the ice cream makes a mess since its overflowed.
