Author Topic: How do I solve these math questions?  (Read 254 times)

So I got this HUMONGOUS sheet to do over Easter, and it's from my math teacher, and I forgot how to solve these things.
Please tell me how and give me the answer, thanks c:

Which expression is not equivalent to 6^3/6^6?
A. 1/6^2
B. 6^-3
C. 1/216
D. 1/6^3
just to clear things up anything after ^ is a power, so 6^3 would be 6 to the third power (cubed)

Which equation does NOT represent a linear function of x?

A. y= -3/4x
B. y = x/2
C. y = -3 - 2x
D. y=3x^2 - 2

please don't tell me to do my work on my own, some stuff online is not clear enough for me, you guys make it easy c:

Here are some tips:

1. a^b / a^c = a^(b-c)
2. If a variable has an exponent then it is not linear

...
For the first one: Use a god damn calculator.
For the second one: Use a god damn graphing calculator.
Seriously. Algebra is loving easy.

yeah but how do I know if it's linear
and that's not going to really help on my finals if I don't know how to, she sometimes makes us explain how we got our answer.
also thanks ipquarx

nobody here is going to give you the answer

for the first question just find the answer to the problem and try to see which of the multiple-choice answers aren't equal to that answer
god it's not even that hard

second question i don't know i'm not in algebra or calculus :/

but seriously if you needed help so bad then google these things?
my math teacher tells me to google things all the time
