All the bogans on my feed just talk about their new ute mods and pigging.

We have a Newcastle here that is full of loving mental cases. We also have a Toronto.

There's a Kentucky near me, and there's Brooklyn near Sydney

If I were to join the ADF I would probably go in as an officer in the signals corps, the engineering corps, or intelligence.

I eat it straight when hiking.

But yeah, when you do it right I would definitely prefer it to nutella or anything sweet on toast.

I still can't see why anyone voted for these buffoons in the first place.

I remember when I was more active the community seemed ok. But now it's just prepubescent children screaming at each other.

this might be an odd place to ask but does anyone know how the scientific definition of theory differs from the everyday use of the term

A scientific theory is an explanation for a natural phenomenon that is based on evidence collected by experiment and observation. It is not remotely similar to a guess and is taken as true until disproven by experiment or observation.

An everyday theory is a guess as to why or how something happens.

Science constantly corrects itself. When something gets proof that goes against it in scientific knowledge, that idea is replaced with what is now thought to be correct. Things such as evolution have lasted since the 19th century without any evidence against it, and lots of observations for it.

I honestly find it hard to think of a way life could work without evolution — most animals aren't perfect copies of each other, they mutate all the time. Some of these mutations will affect the likelihood of a particular creature surviving and then whatever DNA was mutated will probably get passed down to the creature's offspring. Over time these mutations build up, like a snowball, and new species could even be created.

The Christians who think the bible has any truths involving anything other than what life was like at the time it was written are listening to a couple thousand (Old testament) to couple hundred (New testament) year old book that doesn't constantly get revised.

Religion isn't always a bad thing, but it is not something that should be used to explain how and why certain things are about the universe. The only true way to do that is by conducting experiments and explaining the observations. Over and over, ad infinitum.

Anyway, on-topic:

The music makes this video great.

Distilling water makes it taste like stuff, it's way easier to just get a water cooler and get 5 gallon jugs of water. That's what I do and not only is the water safe to drink it tastes good too.

Distilled water wouldn't have much of a taste because it is almost 100% pure. I'm not sure how it could taste bad.

You could possibly setup something to distill the water, the water you collect from that might be less toxic - the news article says that it gets more concentrated when you boil it, so it isn't coming off in the vapour.

It's like their only way of getting their message across is to shriek it across the 1ft gap to the other person at a pitch that hurts my skull.

Ugh.
