It's not all that uncommon. Just undue stress on an erect snake.

You may also think you have a broken snake when you instead have Peyronie's disease, which is where your snake bends unnaturally in any direction. That's not always painful, but it can be, or can cause erectile dysfunction.
It can also be caused by damage to the snake.

I'm not entirely sure.
I don't think so, because I don't believe they're connected to any other bones by joints.
Instead they're held in place by the organ/tissue around it, like the hyoid bone, which is connected to others by muscle and ligaments.

So, I think the absolute answer to the question is no, it's not possible at all to dislocate a snake, in the strictest sense.

But I can't really find any good X-Rays or CT-scans of the nether regions of snake-boned animals.
