Help / Locking doors
« on: July 03, 2011, 02:32:42 PM »
Can someone please tell me how to set the jvs doors so they are only accessible to a player who meets a certain variable? I am building a store in my city and have an employee only area, but can't figure out which event will make it so that if they aren't an employee they can't get in.

Suggestions & Requests / New event idea(s)
« on: June 24, 2011, 03:22:49 AM »
So I was just sitting there playing my favorite game(Blockland of course), Spawning a vehicle to drive around my map, when it hit me...is it possible to event vehicles? If someone were to model wheels like in the old lego sets, then just make an event like onactivate>self>changedatablock>vehicle or something like that. This could work with cars, trains, aircraft. You would just have to change the base of the intended vehicle to be a vehicle, and all attached blocks would just go for the ride.

Only one problem...I can't script. Don't Have a clue what I'm doing. So, If anyone that DOES know scripting is interested, this could be the next major thing in blockland. It would eliminate the need for vehicle spawns in some builds, and add to the creativity of others. So, what is the community feeling on this?

Mapping Help / Problem with grass showing up
« on: June 23, 2011, 12:15:30 PM »
Ok, so I recently started working with the mission editor. Basically just wanted to experiment and mess around without investing a lot of time. I'm making maps mainly for myself and a few friends.

So, my problem is that when I lay down a texture, like sand or dirt, the grass shows through when you get close. I thought I had found the solution on another thread, but its not working. Can somebody help me please?
this is where I thought I found the solution....but it isn't working...

Suggestions & Requests / Football uniforms and directed lighting
« on: June 11, 2011, 05:11:34 AM »
I am working on a stadium, posted some pics in the gallery if anyone wants to see. What I was wondering is if I could get some help making some uniforms for the player character to wear, maybe a mini game to go along. I wanted to start a blocko football league this fall, once I am done with my stadium I am planning on releasing it as a DL, and teams can change the letters on the field/colors/ ect. to match their team. Also I was wondering about whether or not there is a way to make the lighting more directed at a point. I have lights for nighttime, and they light up the whole field, however they also light areas where there should be shadows. Any help on these topics is greatly appriciated.

Gallery / Football stadium
« on: June 01, 2011, 10:36:42 AM »
I began a project last December, to build a stadium resembling the famed "Horse Shoe" that the Buckeyes play in. I wound up being deployed to Iraq in January and haven't had a lot of time to work on it. This is what I have so far, it is about 75% complete, I still need to add some stairways, finish the broadcast suites, and build the places up under the bleachers. I would like some critique and suggestions before it is complete. Here are some pics, and when it is completely done I would like to offer it as a DL to anyone who wants it to mess around with, change the field to a different team, ect.

Modification Help / Getting models in/out of blender
« on: January 03, 2011, 09:28:27 PM »
So i DL'd blender as well as google sketchup to create models for adding on to blockland. The problem I am having is that everytime i try to import into blender I am told that python is missing a .dll file. I tried uninstalling python and blender and reinstalling both but no success. I could just make models in blender, but alas, python wont work to export for above mentioned reason. Is this problem fixable?

Modification Help / making add ons
« on: January 03, 2011, 08:44:07 PM »
I have followed a tutorial on RTB posted by Chao, ans added my own folder in add-ons, but when i go in game to the add-ons section it never shows up. Am I doing something wrong? I have been learning coding, teaching myself, and believe i have the basics down, but have no way to test it since it doesn't show up in the add-ons. How can I fix this?
