i've got a 2001 3.3l dodge grand caravan that wont shift into 3rd
its an automatic transmission
first and second work fine, but it just wont go into 3rd, it revs all the way up in 2nd
as pictured it has a manual option to select 3rd, and when in this option it acts like its in drive, using the first and second gear
since theres no loss of power or noticable mechanical failure im assuming its the transmission control module or solenoid pack not giving the transmission the right signal
does anyone have any other ideas on what this could be?
both of those units are 100 dollars or more to replace, excluding labor, and id like to get the problem right the first time instead of replacing something that already worked
the solenoid pack is a pain in the ass to get to but the TCM is easy, so i'd just do it myself
is there any diagnostic i can do to trace the issue?
