Off Topic / Sleeping In
« on: April 25, 2011, 01:15:20 PM »
I can't do it anymore :panda:

Ever since I started using an alarm clock, my body wakes me up between 6 and 7 hours after I went to sleep. Prior to it, I could sleep for 12, or even 13 hours on the weekend. But now I find myself going to sleep at 2-3 AM and waking up at 7-8 AM. It's stupid; I want to sleep in ;~;

Does anybody else have this problem?

whats happenin forum

I need to know real quick if this laptop would be able to run World of Warcraft/Blockland.

I don't want a laptop that can run most modern games, just one that will let me play those two when I go on vacations and whatnot.

And by "our" I don't mean me.

So, this Halloween, I felt like I would dress up like a ninja. Though, when I went into the living room to show my mother and grandmother, the first thing they thought of was a terrorist.

I had on baggy black sweat-pants, black socks, black shirt, and the other shirt wrapped around my face. As far as I've seen terrorists don't wear all-black clothing, or really any of those for that matter.

The thing is, they spend every day at home on the couch watching or waiting for Bill O'Reilly to come on at 5 and Sean Hannity to come on at 6. Every day I hear most of the same bull stuff coming from the TV just 20 feet from my door, and it annoys me more than anything.

My grandmother, after she expressed her distaste for the costume, turned to my mother and said," I really don't think he should be wearing something like that in this political climate." After hearing this remark, I marched off to my room to take a small poll from everybody and asked if what they saw in the image looked like a terrorist. Nobody said yes.

The biggest reason I made this thread was to rant about how stupid my family can be. So, I blame FOX because they make a big deal out of anything terrorist related, my mother and grandmother watch it every day, and they agree with most of the stuff they say on there.

Games / Looking for a certain flash game
« on: October 31, 2010, 05:23:43 PM »
A while back, somebody posted a link to a flash game.

In it, you played as this little mono-black character, and the whole point of the game was to get from checkpoint to checkpoint while running super fast.

The levels varied in terrain and what-not, and they got increasingly difficult as the game progressed.

I tried searching, but since I'm not sure what the game was called, I didn't find it.

Does anybody have an idea?

Off Topic / Help with a stupid project
« on: September 30, 2010, 07:54:28 PM »
So I was assigned to do this survey as a project for my mediocre psychology class, and it's due tomorrow. Problem is, I don't actually know very many people of varying age, so I figured I'd ask you guys.

I don't need names. All I need is age, occupation and gender. Of course, if you're in high school or middle school just say that.

Answer the questions as seriously as you can, and as honestly.

1) What do you think is the goal or purpose of psychology?

2) Do you believe that psychologists know what causes human behavior?

3) Do you think that psychology will ever completely explain why we do things?

4) Do you think that a psychologist can really help a person with his or her problems?

5) Do you think that psychologists should do experiments to try to discover what causes our behavior?

6) What activity or behavior do you think is the hardest to explain? (answer may vary)

Off Topic / Girl Throws Puppies into a River (Explicit Warning)

So a friend of mine just sent me a link to this video showing a girl throwing at least 5 or 6 puppies into a river.

We can determine from the picture so few things.

One, based on assumption, she probably has a facebook account, no matter what country they're in.

Two, she is 5ft 6in-5ft 8in, blond, eye color unknown, Caucasian

She has something written upside-down on her red sweater, barely legible, might be of assistance if it's the product of a local store.

Let's work together on exposing this sicko! Use the comments.

It's really forgeted up, and it sickens me to know that people actually do these kinds of things.

I warn you again, this is really forgeted up. The point of me showing this video is from the description. So, no, this isn't me posting out of hilarity or anything like it. Your reaction is your reaction, and mine is mine. It's not so much graphic as it is just really sick and twisted to see somebody do this. Watch at your own will.

Games / DeathSpank
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:25:03 PM »

I actually just finished playing the demo, and I don't have anything bad to say about this. It's an action-roleplaying game with quite cool features, and the full game is available on PSN for $15, and Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points.

When it comes to how the gameplay is, it's fairly simple. You use all of the action buttons for attacks. The cool part is that you can assign melee or ranged weapons to different buttons for more customized control.

I didn't pay much to the story as it was loading up. All I got from when I actually started to play was that you control the main, title character, DeathSpank, hero to the downtrodden, looking for a certain "artifact" that a witch has hidden in a cave or something.

The dialogue of this game is all very funny. DeathSpank's character to me is very reminiscent of Johnny Bravo's. They both are very egotistically humorous characters, while everybody sees them as just another idiot.

Copied from the wiki article:
Quote
DeathSpank is an action role-playing game by game designer Ron Gilbert, who had been working on getting the game made since 2004; it was announced on January 9, 2008 that Hothead Games would publish the game.[1] The game has been described as "Monkey Island meets Diablo".[2] The game was released on July 13, 2010 on the PlayStation Network and July 14, 2010 on Xbox Live Arcade.

DeathSpank's world is cylinder shaped and is rendered without load screens as the player explores its unique goings-on. Gameplay is similar to Diablo, but with more customization, featuring hundreds of pieces of armor and weapons. Advanced dialog options, similar to LucasArts popular Monkey Island series, also play a large part in unfolding the game's story. The game is being designed to be comfortable to play in short segments, ideal for more casual gamers (three difficulty levels), but also boasts 8 to 12 hours of gameplay. In addition to the 33 main quests, players have the option of performing a total of 79 side quests. The PS3 version includes 12 trophies: 7 bronze, 4 silver and 1 gold (for achieving Experience Level 20, the maximum level available).
