If that object hit earth, it would definitely screw up our orbit with the sun.

jupiter is epic massive, and if it hit us, we would be assraped.  end of story.

The impact mark is Earth-sized, not the asteroid / comet.

truth yes, impact mark is earth sized, not nessesarily(spelled it wrong) meaning that asteroid is the size of earth.  altho we would still be forgeted if it hit us.

:D cool, I'm always interested in space and planets when stuff like this happens its actually quite cool and makes you think about space and planets destroying eachother. :)

Jupiter is made of gas. :P

Here is an artist's rendition of what would happen if it crashed into earth.

The impact mark is Earth-sized, not the asteroid / comet.

1400 Earths fit into Jupiter

Diameter of Earth = 12756.2km
Diameter of Jupiter = 142984km

Basically the diameter of this impact hole is 12756.2km

So, if the impact is 8.921417781010462709114306495 8317% of Jupiter's diameter, we need to get that percent of Earth's diameter.

The asteroid would be 1138.060659234599675488166508 1407km scaled on Earth. There are 1.6093 kilometeres in a mile, so we divide by 1.6093.

707.17744313341184085513360351706 miles

Again, that's the impact mark, not the size of whatever made the impact.

Your calculation is therefore wrong.

If it were to hit Earth it wouldn't just screw up our orbit. It would completely destroy our planet.

Again, that's the impact mark, not the size of whatever made the impact.
