There are two Steam icons because one is with WINE, the other is the native version which I do not have access to.

try editing the native launcher.
use 'steam steam://open/games' instead of steam straight up.

No, I can't actually use it.  I'm not in the beta, so it tells me I don't have access on log in.

I used WINE for a while, when I did use Fedora, but there are /still/ issues I'm not willing to over look.
