Off Topic / GTA 4 - Accident at the Pump
« on: August 20, 2012, 09:33:53 AM »
Accident in Gas Station
So, earlier today, I was playing LCPD:FR, and had just finished responding to a Vehicle Accident. After this, I returned to Traffic Patrol, however, my gas (using gas mod) was low. So, I turned into a Gas Station that was near Francis Intl. Airport. I, by the way, am in a 2011 Ford Escape. So, I park my car at the pump, and am ready to get out and start pumping my gas. I'm texting someone in real life, however. All of a sudden, I hear a boom, and my Escape gets sent into my pump. Immediately, because I don't know if I'm on fire, or what just happened, I move away from the pump as quickly as I can.

I get out of my Escape to look around and see what just happened. I see that the cop car (abandoned) that was behind the explosion is now on fire, and ready to blow. In order to make sure that this doesn't kill someone, I fire off my gun to scare people away. Immediately after, I called for a Fire Dept. Truck. They came, however, before this, the cop car had exploded, and landed on my Escape's right side. My windows were already gone, however, it took a headlight and dinged the side up.

After the Fire Truck arrives, an angered Taxi Driver proceeds to pull the driver from the seat, and attempts to drive off in the truck. Being that I was on-duty, I have the ability to arrest, frisk, and detain people. So, I immediately arrested 2 of the taxi drivers. You can see at the end the damage that was done to my Escape, and what happened to cause the explosion. None of this was staged.

Notes:
-The lights on my car are modded to be real LED's (Emergency Lighting System v6)
-The Traffic Advisor on my car works as well.

Note
I don't think this belongs in Games. I wasn't sure,

Colorset Manager
Tired of not being able to change your colorset without using a console command ever since V21? With the Colors Mod, you can once again change your colorset with the click of a button once again. This simple add-on adds a button to your Start Game menu, and will use the RTB Colorset Manager.

Requirements
Return to Blockland

Notice
This is programmed to only work with RTB 4.03. Once RTB is updated, it will not execute. This is to prevent conflicts with RTB Updates.

Mod Closed.

Code 3 - V-Con Siren
This pack consists of 5 sirens for use in the Vehicle Stereo. For those who are confused, Code-3 means emergency response. So, pretty much, a police siren.

  • Wail (Standard)
  • Yelp
  • Hyper-Yelo
  • Hi-Lo (2-tone)
  • Auto Cycle (Wail, Yelp, Hi-Lo)
These are great for Videos, City RP's, and any other situation that requires the police. You can download them below! I'll post a video of them in Modification Discussion.

Suggestions & Requests / Game-Mode Progress Save
« on: August 17, 2012, 05:41:48 PM »
I was thinking the other day about a feature that could be implemented into Game-Modes. Say you are playing a game-mode that requires a lot of time and goes level by level. You want to get off, but you're about 1/2 way done. So you type /save, and it saves the bricks into something like:

base/saves/Gamemode_Test.bls

So, the next time you load it, it puts you where you left off. And when you want to reset /resetgamemode, and it restores your game-mode to the original save. This allows for saving their progress in a game-mode:

$server::allowSave 1 0
$server:: allowReset 1 0

Suggestions & Requests / Off-Topic Rule: Intentional De-Railing
« on: August 17, 2012, 12:34:23 AM »
Intentional De-Railing occurs when 1 or more users knowingly sends a topic off of its' original subject. The title is pretty much self explanatory. I'm sick of reading about a topic that I clicked, and ending up reading a flame-war from a bunch of un-related users. I don't mean debates, or criticism. I mean legitly off-topic de-rails.

Example:
-Discussion - Drama

Simple Terms:
People other than the OP De-Railing topics.

Off Topic / Depression - Anyone else have this?
« on: August 14, 2012, 09:26:05 PM »
So, today, I'm in a horrible mood for some reason. I actually feel sick, that's how bad of a mood I'm in. I've had Severe Depression (and BPD) for 4 years, recently (last year) diagnosed. Anyone else have this stuffty thing that we call Depression? Honestly, I feel like it's one of the worst possible things a person can be stuck with.

Factual Note: People don't sometimes have Depression. It's chronic.

Anyone actually have Clinical(doctor told you that you have) Depression?

Custom Loading Menu
Tired of looking at the same old boring Loading Menu for minutes at a time? With Custom Loading Menu, you can set the loading screen to be your favorite picture, instead of an ugly gradient one. Changing the picture is simple, simply replace menu.png in the Client_Loading folder, and you're good to go! I included a few examples, as well as a default menu.png.

Game Modes / BombSquad - Save the City (v2.0)
« on: August 11, 2012, 02:47:16 PM »
BombSquad
By: Jeep

Description:
Welcome to BombSquad! The point of BombSquad is to collect enough wires within 5 minutes, and return them to the bomb before it explodes. You start in ACM City Church. Here, you and your friends have to scavenge the city looking for wires to deactivate the bomb located in the Church. After 5 minutes, if 30 wires have been deposited back into the bomb, you have saved the City from the attack. Anything less than 30 wires, and you're doomed to destruction.

Wires

Dud Wires
Dud Wires are likely to be just as frequent as Normal Wires. When you click on a Dud, you'll receive a message saying that this wire is a dud. Duds do not count as anything, and they are scattered.

Rogue Wires
Rogue Wires act and appear as normal wires. However, the only difference is that they don't disappear when clicked, and they steal one of your normal wires. Though rare, they can cost you the game.

Normal Wires
Normal Wires are 1x1 black plates that have been scattered across the city. They can be literally anywhere. Some may be laying on the sidewalk, while some may be under a table. When you click a Normal Wire, you should return it back to the bomb as soon as you have about 5 or 10.

Realism
For realism, you can't see how much time is left on the bomb until you go back to the church and click it. You also might be faced with a situation (rarely, but possible) where the number of Dud Wires outnumbers Normal Wires, so it would be impossible to save the city. However, you won't know until the final second. I also implemented the Day / Night Cycle, so it can be VERY tricky to see the black wires in certain areas.

How to Use
When you spawn, you'll be in the church. The mini-game can remain in the lobby forever. Once a player clicks the blue barrier on the door, users will be able to leave, and can start searching. To deposit a wire, go back to the church and click on the center 2x2 plate (it's blinking). To see how much time is left, click on the brick next to it (2x1 plate).

Tips & Tricks
Look anywhere for the wires. They can literally be in any place possible. I was very sneaky when I hid them. Please note that they are random, and what was a normal wire, could end up being a rogue or dud wire later on.

I got around to making a video on V21 (yes, v21). I mainly intended it for people who can't run it and want to see it, and or people who are considering buying it. Let me know what you think. Everything is on High Settings.

Help / Light Bug - No Lighting
« on: August 10, 2012, 02:42:39 AM »
So, when I turn the players light on, I see the orb, but there is no actual light coming out from it. Anyone else having this issue? I have an ATI HD Radeon 4650.
