It seems I'm the only one in my family that doesn't get uncomfortable around people who don't have the same beliefs as me, and it looks like there's a religion flame war here every week.

I really don't judge people by their religion. Not saying I'm a saint or anything, but why should you really care in the first place? Why the struggle to be right?

Off Topic / Vagabond forced me to ask if you guys love me :(
« on: February 22, 2011, 07:38:09 PM »
You think that after awhile you'd get tired of most hating you.

Who ever Vagabond is, he or she challenged me, saying nobody loves me, and checking for so would wield the same results.

I hope I'm not whoring attention or anything. I just wanna be loved </3

Drama / Zeratul - razor=noob
« on: February 21, 2011, 10:52:58 PM »
So while at Xalos' server, enjoying a fine sport of gentlemen, Zeratul decides that one of the admins are a "noob". I defend my brothers, you see. Nobody gets away with hurting my fellow friends.

After a long and hard battle between us both, he got muted and kept rejoining the server seeing if it will unmute him.

Some proof:

Afterwords I said to Xalos "I'm going to make a drama topic about Zeratul" and then I did.

So, say you're in drama and you want to get a quote but the thread it was originally in was locked.

To start, I got a link to the latest locked thread in Off-topic.

http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=145479.0

Then, click on the title within the post.

It will add something to the web address.

For this locked thread, it would be "msg3374463#msg3374463"

Now, when you quote somebody it looks like this:
Code: [Select]
Yes, yes it is.
See anything that looks familiar from the address of the locked topic?

link=topic=145481.msg3374609#msg3374609

Replace the last line with the last part of the address.

Now it would look like this:
--

And that's how it's done.

Off Topic / How many people are sick right now?
« on: February 18, 2011, 09:11:09 PM »
Are you the least bit sick right now? Almost everybody in my whole neighborhood has the coughs. I'm the only one in my house who isn't sick at the moment. It's strange because everybody I know is sick.

So, if you are sick, what's your illness?

Games / Warcraft III: A review by me.
« on: February 18, 2011, 01:59:56 PM »

This game was a bit of fun back in the earlier days. Playing online games, kicking ass on Real-time strategies and drinking soda pop. But many of us remember most of the games we played back in the good ol' days of 2003

Warcraft III was one of those games. I played it a lot, but now I'm replaying it and I'm going to share my opinion on this game.

Part one: Controls
The controls are simple. You can either use the mouse for everything, or you can use the very many hotkeys there are. Each building uses production hotkeys, each unit uses action hotkeys and they're really easy to remember. There's a whole lot to control, but even an idiot can figure out how to do things.

Controls get an 8 out of 10 for being easy and useful.

Part two: Units
There's a really large selection of units, and there's different races with almost the same amount of units for each one. But the thing is that there's not enough balance. You can't get a good army up and ready because there's always a better unit.

There's also a large number of neutral units, too. These monsters drop gold and items for your heroes. They're everywhere, they're fun to fight and there is just enough for each map.

The units you control are pretty simple, and they're really easy to familiarize with.

Units and enemies get a 6 out of 10. The units are pretty well made, but they're not balanced and fighting army to army just isn't as cool as you used to think.

Part three: Music and sounds
The sound in Warcraft III is pretty good. The voice acting is really well, and everything sounds polished and well done.

Now the music in Warcraft III is really, really catchy and never gets old. Every race has their own "Theme song", and all the music pieces in campaign really fits. There is never a dull moment thanks to the music.

Sounds and music gets a 10 out of 10. I don't really think there is anything wrong with it.

Part four: Campaign
This game's campaign follows every major race. The story is great, the characters are cool and it's hard to stop playing once you start. The setting follows many different stories, and many different characters. Nothing is the same.

The best part is the secrets and easter eggs in the parts. Once you're done with the campaign, you have to go back and find every little thing you've ever missed.

Campaign gets a 7 out of 10. It's fun but there's some frustrating parts in it. Also some redeeming parts are the secrets and hidden easter eggs. They're really cool.

Part five: Gameplay
The gameplay is your basic RTS. Make units, research things to make better units and fight enemies. What make Warcraft fun is actually playing it. It's a fun game. The gameplay is almost flawless, as a few glitches and unfair advantages as exceptions.

Gameplay gets 8 out of 10. Warcraft really has a good gameplay. Not a whole lot of games can compete with it.

Part six: Multiplayer
The Multiplayer has to be the best part of this game. You will spend hours on end fighting, claiming goldmines and destroying cities. There are maps that can hold twelve players for the whole round, and it's chaotic. It's also online. An online RTS that isn't bad.

How can it get any better? Multiplayer is perfect. To this day nothing ever gets boring.

Multiplayer gets 10 out of 10. It's the best part of this game.

Part seven: AI
The AI is actually pretty clever. You have four settings for them. Easy, normal, hard or insane. Each map has a different pathing AI. And for an old game, they're pretty smart. They never do the same thing, they never make the same armies and they're actually hard to play against.

So if you're the guy who nobody wants to play with since you're that good, the AI just might be a match for you.

The AI get a 7 out of 10. They're really good, but even set to easy it's really hard to fight against.

Part eight: The editor
This game has an official world editor. You can make your own campaign, or your own multiplayer map and it's pretty easy to figure out. There's an actual site dedicated to player-made maps, so you might want to check it out.

The only issue I have is the character editor. It's hard to make a polished character. But that's about it.

The editor is possibly one of the best RTS world editors, and it gets a 8 out of 10.

Part nine: Replayability
When it comes down to it, Warcraft III can be played again, and again and again. It's never old. Replayability gets a 10 out of 10 because it's never boring.

Last part: Final rating
Warcraft III gets a 8 out of 10. I am a big fan of Blizzard entertainment, so I guess the opinion varies. I just really, really like this game. It's my favorite RTS. It has it's issues, but it's really great for an old game.

So I suggest getting this game.

Off Topic / General Off-Topic Discussion Thread
« on: February 18, 2011, 01:04:21 PM »
Have a story you would want to share but it isn't thread-worthy? Put it here. Want to discuss small details with people? You got it.

Many other forums have these threads, and they have hundreds and thousands of pages, so why not try to keep one alive here?

A lot of times has this tried to be done, but all the threads died. So this time I'm going to try something different. I will have a list of Ongoing discussions, and a link to the original post that started the discussion. Why? So people don't feel left out.

So share your stories, discuss matters and post about random things you've made observation on.

Off Topic / My cat died.
« on: February 17, 2011, 06:28:39 PM »
He was 12. I hated him, but he died pretty in a pretty horrible fashion. He caught fire. I tried to put him out, but he died.

Apparently an electrical outlet sparked and caught his fur on fire. I heard him screaming (as well as a cat can) outside, and I doused him in water. He was buried two hours ago.

I just kind of miss his meow already

Back then, in the quaint time of '06, me and my two siblings had issues with playing the computer too much. My parents decided this wasn't healthy for us. Ever since then there's been a "computer curfew".

On Monday through Thursday, it's 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Then after lunch we get an hour of computer time, and then we can play on the computer all night after dinner.

On Friday we have no time limit on our computer after lunch is finished.

On Weekends, there is no time limit at all, but we have to play outside (unless the weather is bad) for two hours.

I really don't see any of it unfair, though.

Drama / MasterPwnz117 - I am not directly talking to anybody anymore

Profile

What started this
He's the typical kid on the internet. Bad grammar, logic that has more holes than a kitchen sponge. But when somebody points this out, he goes into attack mode. After a few pages, he locks it and makes the first thread.

First thread
He started off ranting about how everybody bitches about grammar. The whole thread consisted of people explaining to him why nobody's bitching and good grammar is important. He starts dropping the F-bomb every two sentences and blatantly ignoring everybody. He locks the thread.

Second thread
This thread was basically his first rant, only abridged. He decided that this was bad idea and locked it, making the next thread.

Third thread
A thread dedicated to people insulting him or "posting bad stuff about him". After awhile he says
but this is my last post on this topic but I will still read your posts.

But four posts later he says
Wow this is funny I will still post here but not to anyone directly
And then ignores everybody, saying he's having fun pissing everybody off. He keeps double and triple posting trying to get people's attention.

The title pretty much sums it up. Take a story of what happened to you today or yesterday, and stretch the truth to the point where it's funny.

Not a whole lot of Add-ons, just essentials (And some cool ones)

The only two rules is have fun and don't be stupid.
