Games / forget EA's Bullstuff
« on: April 10, 2016, 06:53:53 PM »
I'm trying to buy all the DLC for the Mass Effect franchise. Back when ME2 was being released, there was a promotion that involved Dr. Pepper where codes could unlock you in-game items. Dr. Pepper isn't sold in Australia (and I only bought ME2 a few years ago, well after the promotions ended), so I never had the opportunity to get these items.

Never fear, though! The items are inside a DLC pack called the "Recon Operations Pack"...except that it's PS3-exclusive, for literally no reason. Apparently there's no way to buy or unlock the pack for PC, but I had an idea; BioWare's DLC system is all linked up via this User Entitlements thing; if I buy the pack for PS3, surely the items would unlock for PC and Xbox, right?

I contacted EA Support, and I was told flat-out "No, there's no way to unlock the ROP for PC and you need to buy a PS3 to unlock those items". Obviously, I was quite upset (no swears, amazingly), so to paraphrase what happened next:

"No, we will not release that DLC for you so you can buy it but we will give you two 15% off discount codes that you cannot use together, forcing you to make two separate purchases and you can only use these codes on these selected games that you don't want! Enjoy!"

I assume they wanted to force-feed me this bullstuff so I'd be happy because I got something, but I'm loving pissed off. This is loving ridiculous. How come a company that it amazing at turning everything into DLC is REFUSING to release a DLC pack? What the actual forget is wrong with EA? It's three loving items in loving Unreal 3; just forgetin tick a box, pack it up and then forgetin sell it for 160BP.

forget EA, man.

It's confirmed. Maxwell is officially a toxic biohazard and the Australian SAS is looking to assist with the cleanup operations. Please report any sightings of this dangerous roostersucker.

Please post the names of any other confirmed biohazards so we can make Blockland great again.

Off Topic / What job should I aim for?
« on: April 03, 2016, 06:12:31 AM »
This is my last week of my second term of college. Next term will be my absolute last, and I'll only have 1 class remaining, which means I'll have the entire week (except Thursdays) on which I can dedicate to earning some solid gold cash emone, and I need to start saving the moolah because I want to move to America in the next 5 - 10 years and also pay off my school loans here in Australia.

I'm not sure what I should actually do, though. My situation is this: I don't feel ready for a programming job (I'm the best at my college but everybody programmer on this board could whoop my arse), and there's no going design or writing jobs. I've got about ~7 games to show, but they all look (and play) like stuff without me going back and polishing them up for showcase. The only thing I've got going is PR work with Ubisoft and HP (and some special event stuff with my college if that counts), but PR jobs are contract work and they're rare. The HP job involved playing Salesperson, but I doubt the stats are impressive (I had the most sales with '4' over the week).

Right now, I think I'd prefer higher-paid work than work that would go towards games experience (since I can do that in my free-time and sell games without the "you can't release your own games" NDA contract biting my arse).

What job titles should I be looking for, BLF? And no, I'm not getting a job as a prostitute Legoboss.

« on: January 06, 2016, 07:53:21 PM »

Hello yes this is me.

My hair is getting way too long, and aside from looking terrible, it's very annoying to deal with.

Please give me suggestions for hairstyles that a hair-cutter-person can do and that would give me lots of the bangings with the womens.

Off Topic / Diagnose me, BLF.
« on: November 11, 2014, 01:13:35 AM »
Last night, I had a really sore throat, so I went to bed early hoping it would clear up.

Woke up at 3AM with severe muscle/joint pain, sore eyes, throat even worse, dizziness, and plenty of that disgusting mucus stuff to go with it.

Been up and down all day. Better, but still dizzy, sore throat and muscle pains. Been taking cough medicine, which I think is helping.

How bad is it, BLF? Have I finally got cancer from the You Cringe You Lose thread? Or am I experiencing an extreme form of OP-friend Syndrome?

My poor laptop is on its final legs, and I have Unreal 4 stuff to do. Let's not discuss money, because that's a whole situation I don't want to think about for now.

Tell me how bad/good I did, guys (and remember, Australian prices; we get taxed to stuff):

I didn't get a mouse or speakers since I've got those covered.

It should be noted; I wanted Windows 8.1 Pro and an EVA GTX 980, but both were out of stock. I also decided that the 4790 was much better value than the 4790K, and the only other ones available were the 5th Gen 8 Core i7s, which were $1000 too much.

Games / When handicaps make games and get angry about being critiqued.

In the background: Jim Sterling's review of a very stuffty indie game on Steam.
The white text: The game's developer commenting on how he thinks Jim Sterling is a tool because he's saying bad things about his awful game.

I hate morons like this. Anybody with even an ounce of study in game theory can understand why his game is one of the worst in recent years. Even without it, you can see he stole models, didn't explain the gameplay at all and just made a really poor zombie game.

Games / What should I do with my Batman: Arkham Origins DLC key?
« on: November 01, 2014, 06:11:30 PM »
Got one from an old Humble Bundle, but I don't have Arkham Origins and I have no plans of buying it. Too much effort to post it on SteamGifts.

Gift link is here if you do want it. Shout out if you take it, so I can lock this thread.

I was giving away a copy of Bioshock as well, but somebody took that really loving quick.

This movie was loving high. I'm watching it right now, and I cannot see the director as anything other than a massive stoner.
