Sometimes the story and logic makes the game more than the gameplay. Take any visual novel (no, not sakura spirit, that's just softcore research you pay for). Phoenix wright's a good example. Story with gameplay elements thrown in, makes for some intriguing stories between characters.*

*ive always called phoenix wright a visual novel apologies if it's not the right genre
