Shadow and shader help

I have a Nvidia Geforce 9500 graphics card, However i am still unable to see shadows and shaders.

Are they turned on?

Ensure you have the NVIDIA ForceWare (or compatible release) drivers and not the Microsoft supplied drivers.

Open device manager, expand Display adapters, right-click your device, select Properties, click Driver, the provider should be NVIDIA, not Microsoft.

got filled up with dust, now I've got a new one.

I think recall installing a driver update awhile ago, Could that have caused it?
