I had an impulse to update you guys on my life for the past couple of years. I'll sprinkle some photos in for funsies.
I guess we'll pick up where I left off. In the Air Force.
Long story short, my job (flightline avionics) used a lot of heavy equipment and we were terribly undermanned. This contributed to a pretty sweet forgeted up back. My deployment made it worse. Eventually, I got a medical discharge and am now "60% disabled."
Backing up about 8 months, I'm home on leave and I call up an old friend from college. I'd known her since early 2009 and we had always liked each other, but were always dating other people. Those feelings were stirred back up and we started talking. This continued long distance until the next time I was hope on leave about 6 months after that. While home this time, I got a call from base saying I'd been found officially unfit for duty and was being discharged. I made it official with her that night.
A few more months, and I was back home in Alabama. I got a call from my aunt (manager and Boeing) asking if I was interested in a job. 7 months later, I start work at Boeing as an integration specialist tech. I was working, discussing long term plans with my girlfriend, starting to look at houses, and loving life.
Fast forward a bit further. I decided I want to spend the rest of my life with her and take her to Biltmore Estate to propose.
Currently I am rotating work out of New Orleans working for NASA at the Michoud Assembly Facility (where the Saturn V was built) on the SLS (Space Launch System. The rocket NASA is going to send people to Mars with). I'm bummed to be away from her for a month at a time here and there, but I'm thankful to be working on something like this. I'm working around and inside the engine section and liquid hydrogen tank of the SLS at the moment.
So... that's why I haven't been working on Titanic.
