You guys got any favorite books or authors
recently got through the first few Witcher (Sapkowski) novels. definitely a fun read and would recommend, but nothing can beat the satisfying simplicity of the Hobbit for me

made this clip while playing around with OBS Studio/Adobe Premiere. lossless 1440p/240hz recording comes out to like 30GB per minute, still in awe at the size of that. somehow managed to hit front page of Reddit with 140k total views

honestly the 12.5ms advantage is one of the least important aspects of high refresh monitors, but its a nice crunchy number thats easy to showcase

get an EVGA card so you can step up to 3000 series within 90 days

recently built this abomination

on a related note, 240hz looks lightsaber-through-butter smooth

If you're mostly gaming it might be worth it to consider Intel due to increased per core performance and clocks. Comet lake isn't as bad as their previous gens in terms of price/performance. you do lose PCIE 4.0 but that won't matter if you're running PCIE 3.0 at x16 (GTX 2080 Ti doesn't even fully saturate it).

go with ITX. IMO there's not much need for additional slots from a bigger form factor when a decent itx board will have everything built in (audio, LAN, wifi, m.2)

new nvidia cards are coming out soon (rumoured september), I would strongly recommend going EVGA so you can take advantage of their step up program to upgrade to a 3000 series card

and as said above, I strongly recommendbthe main drive is m.2 nvme

loving phenomenal photos

this is hot
thank

It's been a journey, I started off wanting to get the "perfect" shot of my city just to update the wiki page, ended up getting into DSLR photography and drone shenanigans. Drones still blow my mind, what an incredible technology

king tony is a very high level meme lord.

any full-scale attempt at socialism devolves into state capitalism, a massively inefficient system which has either very poor general conditions or requires a class of slaves to combat the massive inefficiencies. every livable modern "communist" state (ussr and onward) used slave/prison labor in disproportionately larger amounts than any modern free-market capitalist society has (although america did have slavery 2 centuries ago, we literally started killing slavery supporters until they stopped and the free market was efficient enough to continue operating without slave labor). but nevertheless, though it is far smaller in scale than USSR or modern china, the US still has an enormous government-sanctioned prison-industrial complex. i see this more of a failure of the government rather than capitalism

reminder that individual accumulation of wealth and resources is inevitable in any post-tribal human society and that capitalism provides the best and most efficient framework for the usage of accumulated wealth and resources toward the betterment of humanity, both in terms of technological progress and quality of life
