Games / Touhou Sky Arena (Netplay!)
« on: October 30, 2011, 01:18:25 AM »

Touhou Sky Arena is an action doujin software game, which features a Dragonball Z-like atmosphere.

Now then, most of you are already realizing that this game is in Japanese. For you people, go find an English patch because I don't feel like it.

Anyways, moving on, the game itself is pretty fun and exciting, but you need a good computer to handle more than 2 players.

You can either play 2-4 players locally, or through Hamachi networking.

Either way, you can play with your friends!

This game is very action-packed, and might cause a bit of strain on your computer if you have 1 too many windows open.

Now then, onto gameplay.

The game's default controls are:

Esc = Close Game (Asks to confirm, top is yes and bottom is no.)
ENTER = Go back to Main Menu (Again, top is yes and bottom is no.)
Q = Lock on opponent
Z = Dash (Confirm on menus)
X = Shot
C = Melee
V = Shield (Back on menus)
A + Z = Climax (When not darked out)
A + X = Spell (Release X and keep A held to cast)
A + C = HI-TENSION (When not darked out)
A+ V = EX-Spell (Instantly used when pressed)

The game's gameplay style is mostly like DBZ.

You can dash at insane speeds, fly up or down, and use specials.

The game's story mode features the story of the character you choose, consisting only of a Prologue and Epilogue.

Then, you have Free Play, where you select a character and fight random AI.

And then you have Netplay.

Now it'll ask IP CONNECTION or LOCAL, or something.

Select whichever fits your fancy.

IP Netplay requires some sort of online thing similar to Hamachi.

I use Hamachi since it's easy to set up.

To host, set the first option until the second option is darked out.
To join, leave the first option as is.
Now, enter the IP address of the Hamachi IP, and put in your nickname under.
Then, press the last button to connect.

When hosting, once the second option is darked out, type in your nickname, and press the last button to make a lobby.
This is where players join, and you can chat.

Then, once everything is set, press ENTER, first option, and the option on the left.

This will go to the character select screen.

If you have less than 4 players, you can disable AI by going to their character, and pressing Z, then pressing left.

Then, to select your character, press Z, down, and select.
You can also choose their palette.
Press enter to confirm your settings, and press enter again once everyone is ready.
This will go to stage select.

Pick your stage.

THE NEXT PART IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT.

After, you can select your music.

The music allows you to change when you hit Lo-Tension, Hi-Tension, and Climax.

After that, press Enter and we enter the game.

Oh right. Here's an interface thing.

A = BGM (A also = BGM points)
B = Enemies' life and status
C = Player's life and status
D = Weapon status'
E = Map
F = Current target

Screenshots!

You can download the game (In parts) through these links.

Part 2
Part 3

This game's files are all jumbled.

TO FIX THIS
Extract all files (to here) into one folder.
We have 3 folders now.
Data
Resource
Material
There should be 2 .gpk files not inside of the data folder.
Put them inside.
Then. put gameresource into the Resource folder.
Afterwards, put data into resource.
Have fun!
If you need any further help, ask here.
Just a side note, you need to get Windows Japanese text enabled.
Go google how to do that.

Off Topic / Steam, how come you keep acting up?
« on: September 20, 2011, 08:29:15 PM »
Great, so Steam Guard is deciding to say this is a different computer I'm logging in from, and they want me to enter the code thing they're asking for, but last time this happened on another one of my accounts, I never got the e-mail. So now, I have to make a new account.

Steam was acting up earlier, not connecting to the servers.

Damnit Steam, you're so useless.

Off Topic / I thought libraries were supposed to be quiet.
« on: September 01, 2011, 11:22:03 AM »
So, I had an assignment to do at the library, and I can't even sit there for a full 30 minutes without some handicapped 3 year old SCREAMING, a baby crying obnoxiously LOUD, and then 2 hours in the library, a group of people start talking as they normally would, and not in a whisper, so that I have to sit there another 2 hours distracted like no tomorrow.

Hell, it's quieter in my house.

Games / GetAmped 2
« on: July 20, 2011, 01:24:40 AM »

GetAmped 2 is the epic sequel to the fighting game Splash Fighter, a.k.a. GetAmped.

It's a very good game from what I've played, and it has skin customization, which allows you to make your own skin to use in battle to look how you want.

Skin Examples

There are also items called "Weapons" that are usable throughout combat, such as the Twin Gun.

Now then, the main part of combat is skill, and the use of accessories.

Accessories will help you drastically throughout battle, as they change your attacks and specials. There are weapons like the that will make it so that you will have energy knives in your combos.

Did I mention that accessories are upgradeable? I don't think I did.

Upgrading

Uh huh. You heard me. Upgrading.

While having an accessory is great and all, why not make it even better?

Upgrading will give your accessories extra stats depending on how much you upgrade the Power,Trick, andLife.

Such as guts, which let's you survive death once.

Or GetAmped, which gives you Max Voltage at the start of each round.

(Max Voltage makes your special moves even more powerful.)

Now then, there are shops, and Cash Gachas with powerful weapons inside.

Oh, and one normal currency gacha.

The shop let's you buy accessories, weapons, and styles.

The Gachas on the other hand, are lucky draws.

Lucky Draws are exactly what they say.

You put in WIN or Crescent, and it gives you capsules which will give you a random item of the capsule color.

Now the Super MEGA Lucky Draw is very lucky, and you need to make sure you have Crescent to spend on it, because of it's horrible rates.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Styles

Styles in GetAmped 2 are what give your character they're own unique attacks without accessories.

This is good because certain accessories can't be equipped with certain styles, and some accessories have good combos if a certain style is used.

There's fast classes like Ninja and Dancer, Slow but Powerful classes like the Knight Gear, and in-between like the Martial Artist and Fighter.

Styles can also rank up the more you use them and win matches, and this helps because certain upgrade abilities require your style rank to be 1-4.

Now that I've told you most of what you need to know, screenshots!
