Free To Play
Play completely for free, only on PlayStation®3 and the PlayStation®Network. Microtransactions can expand the experience but will not enable pay-to-win.
Corporations
Recruit friends and comrades-in-arms into your galactic corporation to win glory and territory across the stars. A corporation in DUST 514® is similar to a guild or clan in other online games. All players begin the closed beta in an NPC corporation, but can join or create a player organization thereafter.
Vehicles
Vehicles play a large role on the DUST 514® battlefield and are a significant threat to the opposition. The heavily armored units use long-range, heavy, concussive attacks while lighter units utilize their speed and flexibility. Aerial vehicles on the other hand are great for laying down fire from above; their vantage point over the battlefield also puts them in a good position to provide vital support functions for armored units. Each vehicle has its own set of unique bonuses or abilities allowing them to turn the tide in battle. Many of these abilities are of a supportive nature, allowing different types of vehicles to team up to create even more unique roles between classes.
Infantry Dropsuits
The mercenary soldiers of DUST 514® enter combat wearing dropsuits designed to protect them from both the elements and enemy fire. With a variety of specialized designs available, different dropsuits offer specific bonuses to speed, mobility, defense and configurability. Like starships and planetary vehicles, each dropsuit design come with a unique slot configuration and powergrid (PG) and CPU that permit a range of customizations. The number and type of slots determine the modules, weapons, and equipment that can be fitted

It's cool in Terminus, ~10,000ad can be unforgiving, but we can survive. Sure, we don't have any metals, but we have science in a intergalactic dark age! What more could you ask for? Plus the fruits pretty good, try the frost berries.

Call me butthurt, but I miss moments like this from the new games. It just feels good, and not as fake or scripted as some of the other moments in the newer games.

What is Dwarf Fortress?
Dwarf Fortress is game where you lead a small band of dwarves on a journey to establish their own outpost, gain wealth, and get impaled by goblins or get decimated by demons. You start out with 7 dwarves, and mine, build, and fight to make a home.
But I don't like ASCII :c
What's Outpost and Succession Game?
Outpost is what we've settled on, half hills, half plains, half haunted, half peaceful. We've got zombies, animated corpses, butchered kittens, zombies, dwarves, and low morale.
A Succession game is where one players plays a year of time in-game, and when he is done, he passes on the save to another person. That person then plays a year, and passes it to the person who has signed up for the next turn. Then, the cycle goes on. Boatmurdered was done this way.
What if I don't play Dwarf Fortress?
Sign up anyways, beginner or not, take a whack at it. Check out some Dwarf Fortress tutorials or ask me if you have any questions. Or, if you don't want to play, get DORFED.
What if I screw up?
Doesn't matter. The next person continues from your turn, or if it's really bad (fortress crumbling) we start from the previous save.
What does it mean to get DORFED?
When someone gets dorfed, the person who currently has the turn assigns a dwarf your name, and if you want, a custom job title. You can request a specific job, but getting one is not guaranteed, and dorfing depends on how many Class-D dwarfs there are available.
How do I sign up?
Just ask. That's it.
How do I upload the save?
Just upload the whole game folder archived in a .rar or .zip.
How do I play?
The windows version is below. Go ahead!
What if I have a Mac?
I have a mac, no worries. Just DL http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/, right click on the Dwarf Fortress .exe, and select Wine, and run from Wine Files.
Well, if we can just revert to the last save, when will it end?
I'll tell you when the time comes. A special condition must be met.
