Mapping Help / Re: Milkshape 3D questions.
« on: August 08, 2009, 12:10:58 AM »
It's not free I think it's about 35$ the newest version has a DTS exporter built in you don't have to download a separate exporter.  The good news is there is a 30 trial so you can try it out before you buy it and see if you like it.  Alternatively you could use blender to model for blockland it's free but it has a steep learning curve, if you want to use that just send me a personal message and I'll send you some good tutorial information.

Just a table I made for a map I started on but never finished, I made a dock to go with it but it needed to be re textured and I never got around to it.  I kinda think the bench seats are to wide but I'm not sure what do you guys think?

Once at a grocery store I got mad (can't remember why) and I walked off kind of in a rush and I knocked over a bunch of food in front of a bunch of people, I felt so stupid : S.

There are over 13,000 members of the blockland community.
The majority of people who've signed up for the forum are gone or never posted either way the majority of active member's think your a richard.

Then why did you post this no one thinks it's funny, or are you trying to get people to feel bad for you?

map2dif isn't even a map editor it's a compiler.  You need to use something like constructor, Quark, or Hammer to create the actual map file.

If you go with QuArK the info base is a good place to start.

http://quark.sourceforge.net/infobase/

If you want to use Constructor these tutorials are good.

These are the tutorials I posted earlier:

I don't really know what kind you should get but in my experience our long haired tabby sheds very little compared to his older short haired brother who makes a horrible mess.  Anyways to help cut down on the hair the gets out into the house I use a comb which works pretty well to get a lot of the excess fur off.  Good luck : )

Something like this

Or this should work pretty well, just make sure you do it outside or in the garage or something.

Modification Help / Re: Interior modeling program

I've done some great interior work on 3ds max outside of blockland, and it would be a hell of a lot easier to make interiors in 3ds max for me. Is it possible to convert my 3ds models to the format needed?

Thanks for your help.
I've never heard of any one being able to do this successfully without the model corrupting it's self with messed up faces and things like that.

I can't get my head around it.
Here are some links for some neat tutorial that wedge posted for constructor.

I've looked around and found that the main program people use for making map interiors is torque constructor (I'm pretty sure, anyway).
I personally use QuArK for interior's which is a little intimidating to learn at first, also you can use hammer which looks like it would be easier to figure out I myself haven't used it yet so I don't really know.
Hope that helps.

The Lenovo G530 is NOT for gaming. Seriously, you can only do basic tasks with this laptop, seeing as how it's part of Lenovo's "value line" of laptops.

The Acer Aspire at TigerDirect has a better processor and a video card that has dedicated memory, for $499.

The Compaq one has pretty low RAM.
Wow that looks pretty good I'm glad you found that, I'm going to look around different places but so far that seems like a good choice, thanks

Is the any easy way to understand Hex code? I am trying to learn but it isn't coming out well.
If you're doing CSS I think you can use rgb values not sure about HTML, anyways you don't necessarily have to understand the way the hexadecimal number system works to use it most people I know just use a color chart google it there are tons.  Like I said  check out that link I gave you it can answer pretty much any question you might have.

A while ago I bought a laptop on sale for about 600$ and ever since then I've had nothing but trouble with it, having to send it back 2 times for repairs.  Anyways this time the repairs are going to run me about 400$+ for parts and labor (motherboard) so I thought that I might as well get a new one and I wanted you guys opinion.  I'm not willing to spend over 500$ (well a little over...) but if you have any other recommendations feel free to post them.

The ones I was really thinking about getting are

The acer looked the best to me and the reviews were pretty good but I wanted you guys opinion.
