General Discussion / Re: ideas on how to improve player retention
« on: July 10, 2016, 02:47:09 PM »
I think something that rewards the player increases retention. Freebuilds and the "Blockland and chill" type servers reward the player with relaxation and a chance to show off/improve their building craft.

Other servers such as CityRPs don't have a reward based system so players usually don't stay very long. Although players in CityRPs earn money, they do nothing to deserve this 'reward' and they can not spend it on anything other than food, decreasing retention basically due to the futility of the system.

Wait a sec:
How will football work? I can't see a field
How many people have signed up so far?
What kind of numbers are you expecting?

[news] forum user Crêpe does not believe there is enough news

Goddamnit haha. All joking aside, just reviews of builds, events or servers would probably be better than general reporting

There usually isn't enough forum news to sustain a news source, the exception being maybe Blockoworld this summer, but after that, there isn't much

Who are the members, and how are they going to help produce the videos?

Clan Discussion / Re: Any productive Clan that I can join?
« on: July 09, 2016, 01:21:35 PM »
iEvent, Cohort, Blockland Classics are filled with nice, warm and friendly people, so you should join one of those, and no I'm not a shill haha. iEvent is a "clan based around social events", Cohort is more focused on building, and Blockland Classics is a good clan if you like filming as well as scripting and building sets. (Square Society is good too, it's pretty community based too, but you apparently don't meet the requirements)

Since you asked for productive clans, don't consider joining the "Blockland Olympiad Committee" or the "Blockland News Channel" as they don't seem to be too productive or long lasting. Glad I could help :)

Jeff Bridges could help you, I heard he's good at Grids ;)

This gives me that warm community feel that I'm used to! Got any pictures of the convention centre I show us yet?

Point taken, but still Blockland News Channels, or news magazines, don't really last long, so good luck.
I ran one called The Block and eventually writing got boring, the quality was already pretty awful and the members just couldn't be bothered, as well as the site having loads of malfunctions. I hate to be pessimistic but nonetheless good luck!

Please stop making so many clans. Blockland newspapers never last long, I probably ran one of the longest though, and it's a drain so please don't put yourself through that sort of pain.

Blocking Swholli is just stupid. What exactly did you do to Blockland Classics to get them to block you in the first place?

Yeah. But like I wanted to do it on July 4 cause there's always fireworks for our birth of the nation.
Never forget Bill Pullman's victory
