why does such a tiny ship need 4 bathrooms though lol

do irl tugboats have that many + a bunk? i didnt think people lived on these things

It depends on the model of tug, the Damen 3212 has 10 berths and 5 bathrooms. The tugs I've seen are nicer than some hotels I've stayed in. Tugging is quite labour intensive and dangerous so crew welfare is a higher priority.

The tugs operating out of a port near me have capacity for 10+ but only really operate with a crew of 4 (captain, chief engineer, officer of the watch, and able seaman). As to whether or not people live on them, yes but it depends on the operating company and how close the crew live to the port. Can't speak for all companies or ports.

OCS Severn - Harbour Tug

Figured we needed harbour tugs for an upcoming naval base and shipyard build. The boat is spread across 3 decks (roosterpit, main deck, and accommodation deck) with capacity for 10 people split into 6 cabins (2x single, 4x double) with 4 bathrooms.

Specifications:
10 Crew (minimum 4)
1x Water cannon
1x Knuckle crane
3x Drum winch

Tender boats have been given their new permanent home in newly designed bays. Figured out a way to fit 2 boats into each bay, meaning the carrier now has 4 boats as opposed to the previous 2.

A lot of progress has been made on the interior but it's mostly hallways right now so there isn't much to show off.

Progress has been slow but here are the anchors (diagonal) and catwalks under the flight deck overhangs (also diagonal). The anchors are designed in such a way that they can be partially retracted into the hull.

I've finally finished the bow, still got some fine detailing work and suspended catwalks to add but you get the idea. Oh and the anchors.

Weapons preperation is almost finished and finally started work on the magazine. I've got something special in the works for the magazine so it probably won't be finished for a while.

The view down into the weapons preperation area.

The mechanised lifts seen in the preperation area connect to tracks feeding to the aircraft hangar and flight deck, 6 decks above. Overhead is one of many access shafts for loading naval stores from the hangar to storage areas on the lower two decks.

Forward engine room is coming together. All the major components are in place, just the fine detailing left to do.

The ship uses integrated electic propulsion (IEP) so the gas turbines and diesel generators are not connected to the prop. Instead they feed electrical power to motors which are in turn connected to the props.

Made some progress on the starboard side. I've still got a lot of fine detailing work to do but all the major stuff is pretty much done.

OCS Fulcrum - Aircraft Carrier [WIP]

Earlier this year I started work on my largest and most detailed build to date - the OCS Fulcrum supercarrier. It's so large that the footprint of the OCS Amity can fit inside the hangar with room to spare. Obviously this is still a work in progress.

Planned specifications:
700 beds across 4 decks (1400 crew capacity)
32 dedicated beds for rapid response aircrew
32 bed hospital
50+ fast jets (adaptable)
10+ helicopters (adaptable)
4 tender boats (18 person capacity)

Armament:
5x Phalanx CIWS
4x 30mm Cannons
16+ GPMG machine guns

(distance shot to hide the lack of detailing on one side)

Figured I might as well tease this monstrosity. You can guess what it is but I'm obfuscating detail until more progress is made.

It's the largest ship I've built to date. In fact it's so large that the hospital ship can fit inside the hangar (length and width) with room to spare. It's nowhere near needing it's own topic and I might continue to tease bits of it as completion is some time away.
