Help / Habing trouble with Fullscreen

Well, im trying to get into fullscreen but i cant set it to what i want.
i wanted the resolution to be 1024 x 640 (if i can remember correctly, i forgot what the number was)
now it runs in 640 480 [4:3] (im not sure what the [4:3] part is)
now when i enable fullscreen, it looks all stretched out and small.
This happened when i changed the draw distance in the Advanced tab. is this a bug, or have i altered the settings in a wrong way?
