So, disappointingly, automatrons do not work well with settlement shops.
They can be assigned to them, but have difficulty standing behind them properly.
You also can't trade with them, as interacting with them brings up the dialogue choices for companions.

Shame. I wanted a robo-barkeep.
Damn, I wanted a Goodneighbor-esque barkeep too. Still gonna try when I get to Automatron in survival, 1 more level. :)

God I love Egret Tours. The stuff I have planned for the parking lot area...

Oh nevermind, it was the brood mother that killed me. That makes more sense.

Probably from his molerat pals that decided to form a molerat army specifically to forget me in the ass.

Hey, hell day 2016 is over.

Me and my brother spent the last two days using up all his materials to build up Spectacle Island (which I guess is now the worst location for a settlement on survival without fast travel).
That's all I've been thinking about lately. I was going to build on Spectacle Island in my first playthrough, but jesus survival makes that impossible.

forced to think more tactically = more fun imo. i think it would also make building up settlements feel more rewarding
This so much. I used Sanctuary Hills and The Castle in my first playthrough and was thoroughly unimpressed. This survival playthrough though was all about finding a spot close to Diamond City:
stuff son, Egret Tours Marina might be the best survival mode settlement. Within walking distance of Diamond City for resupplies and doctors visits, easily defend-able, has a lot of farming space, access to a lot of water for purification, plus a bad-ass terminal-locked safe? I'm back in the hype-zone.
And like I said, Egret Tours is loving awesome to build in. Feels like I'm actually doing something that's going to help me tremendously down the road, rather than just playing around in a building sandbox.

My big issue is the removal of fast-travel and saving. I think they're great for a hard game mode, but they're not features I can play without. 90% of my game time is transporting loot back to my base, sometimes requiring multiple trips since there's so much to carry.
Removing fast travel I think is actually super cool. It spurs you to carry less, gives advantages to companions beyond what they had before, and forces you to centralize a base of operations when you're out and about.

If its not your cup of tea then its not though, I get that not being able to save or fast travel can just be time consuming for most people rather than enhancing the fun.

I won't be touching Survival mode. Can't see how I'd get any entertainment out of it; I'm having enough fun finding Power Armour frames around Boston, but I'm going to need a bigger garage.
Survival mode is primarily just more "realistic" combat. stuff goes down fast if you shoot it right, but you go down just as fast. Really makes you more careful rather than just flying in guns blazing with no regard for safety.

there is some mod incompatibility. like, my mods just stopped working all together for some reason after working fine one night.
Considering its beta and Bethesda has said mods wouldn't be supported during beta... :P

i've been holding off from playing it due to the chance of mod incompatibility, crashes or other immersion-breaking bugs. have you had any issues so far?
Nothing so far.

Annoying Orange still leading by almost 300 delegates over cruz

clinton still leading by just over 700 delegates over sanders

Wisconsin and North Dakota are the next states up for grabs in the first days of April

So 1. She's not 700 delegates ahead, she's ~230 delegates ahead.
2. How about you get off your biased ass and change the title to reflect recent election results, since you know, you're running an election thread apparently.
