Help / Re: Random movement; controls activating randomly

i meant that wine is probably not taking keyboard inputs correctly, as shift kitty explained. airswimmer does nothing that would possibly impact your typing input - its actually the lightest mod i've ever seen, with minimal code.

Got it.

air swimmer is not the problem. sounds like a keyboard input malfunction or something.

The only reason that doesn't make sense is because it's only been happening with Blockland. If it were a physical problem with my laptop, it would be noticable in other applications.

Help / Random movement; controls activating randomly
« on: February 08, 2016, 11:50:31 AM »
This issue had persisted for a few weeks.

Every time I try to play Blockland, whether online or singleplayer, from time to time, I will attempt to type a message and it just shows up as a giant clusterforget of letters and other miscellaneous things. Whenever I would try to walk, jet, jump, or build, so often, my character will continuously move in either some random direction or the direction or action I was performing, and I can't do anything else while that is going on, and it takes me about 10 times hitting that direction that my character is going to actually get it to stop, and then soon after that it will start up again with the same bullstuff.
I have a couple of theories on why this may be happening:

addons-
Specifically one. it's the AirSwimmer mod. Since it's the only one that has to do with player movement that I have found in my addons collection.

System-
I run Blockland through Wine software on linux. I doubt that has anything to do with it, but the option is still open.

Has anyone experienced the same? Does anyone have any suggestions that will help destroy what I can only assume is a bug?

I may try re-installing Blockland.

you mean.. this trudermark?

He probably named his account after this Trudermark. Not sure.

biased

Yeah, I'll admit. I was in a fit of rage at the time being. There's still plenty of good people on BL.

Hello, it is me, TheSunnyCat, owner of this RP. I apologize greatly for the trouble Resolute has created. I had not known he was going to do that, so I gave him a little chat about what he has done. If you care about the server anymore, I have unbanned you, so if you get the chance, you are able to play again. The next problem Resolute causes will be a demotion for him. Thank you for the advice on how to improve my sever.

Best wishes,
TheSunnyCat!

Thank you for your addressment of this issue, SunnyCat. I do care about your server and was, to say in the least, pissed off when he did that. Your take on my rant was about the most mature I've seen and I respect that. It's good to know there's still decent people about the internet.

Not to mention viper's an extremely stuffty builders. He's one of those who think bigger is better, and doesn't bother with details.

Knew I should have stuck to Skryim. Online gaming is stuff these days.

New to foruming (or, at least, I haven't done it in a while), so sorry if the quality of the photos is (here I go again with the word choice) stuffty. Anyway, here's the rest of the photos. Enjoy the view.

Resolute Gamer, formally known as Trudermark, is an admin on a town rp that I was playing on.

If you wish to know the original backstory, here it is-
he used to host a town rp, which I was a trusted and reasonable admin on. I was trying to recolor a fence at my house with the fill can, when, little did I know, it happened to be the same shade of black that the road it was vaguely connected to was, so, being the stupid ass physics they were, it colored the entire god damn road, along with the 7/11 it was semi-connected to, a lighter shade of black. He then got extremely butthurt and commanded at me to fix the road (which, if I had noticed sooner, I would have done.). Very annoyingly and coincidentally, my blockland crashed as I was attempting to fix the accidental mess I had caused, and as I got back on, I state that it had crashed and I wasn't just "skimping out", but the thick-skulled dumb forget refused to listen and decided to perm ban me.

So there's the first sob story.

He is now an admin on a different server (not going to state the host's name, because I don't want to bash the host, just this forgethead), and, after accusing me of being a hacker, claims to know me personally, and then tell me how in "just one word".

Long story short, this forget perm bans me with the reason being "-Trudermark-".

Let me say this. There is no reason to be extremely salty over you being extremely salty in the past over something that should be obvious was NOT intentional. The fact that he had the nerve to 1) ban me (unreasonably) in the first place (by the way, I hope you had fun fixing the road and 7/11 I was going to finish fixing for you. Unless you just gave up, because no one liked your server due to the fact that you're a stuffty host, Truder) is just very stuffty of you (I use that word a lot. Sue me.), and 2) the fact that you would make someone else's server look bad by unreasonably banning someone over something that happened over a year ago on a server that wasn't even theirs goes to show how well you can admin. Way to go, dumb forget.

Here's pics.

Well, you know, we all have to be new at some point. He's obviously adjusting to the internet, and I would safely agree 11 does seem too young to be on a forum. Blockland forums at that. Aside from that, I registered maybe a little bit over a week ago, yet I've had my blockland account since June 2010. I'm just not huge into forums. I gots this account mostly because I'm trying to learn to mod.

Just for future reference, when developing an add-on, just work on it as a folder, not a zip. This makes it easier to make changes to it. Once it's ready to be posted or given to other people, that's when you zip the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) and do make sure it's absolutely a .zip file. Not a .rar or .7z file renamed to a .zip.

I definately see your mindset here, but do know that (as far as I know) 7zip is not a .zip file, though, to be fair. I was unable to find it when re-saving Notepad++, so I could be wrong. I was just suggested to use 7zip instead of the winrar program that was stated as a requirement in the torque script link in Elm's post in this genre As far as I can tell, you can set it on your desktop as anything you wish, the main focus is making it scriptable through Notepad++.

I also used 7zip instead of winrar when preparing to script a modeled addon I have, since they are pretty much the same thing.

But then off topic peeps would want this in drama. God, who are you.
