WARNING ; SARCASM AND POLITICAL STUFF BELOW. Also, I'm not sure if this is where this goes? Meh, tell me if I'm wrong.
Apparently, Obama released in a speech that he had come up with a plan to save the United States four trillion dollars in twelve years.
I'm pretty sure the future, hopefully better, president won't follow it. Want to know why?
First of all the plan states that "One quarter of the deficit reduction to be achieved through tax increases. " Hmm, I'm not sure, but is that fair? I guess it is perfectly fine to raise taxes to get out of debt, when it really wasn't the citizens fault, rather former/current presidents'. Also, a trillion dollars in taxes seems a bit much, coming from one who doesn't pay them, at least.
Also, " Cuts to other mandatory programs--the White House listed agricultural subsidies, the federal pension insurance system, and anti-fraud measures--worth $360 billion by 2023. " In case you didn't know, the federal pension insurance system is the system that gives unemployed citizens money when unemployed. Yeah, that's really smart. Cutting or lowering the income of people unemployed, whether they deserved unemployment, causing the people to eventually not be able to afford food or shelter, and eventually death. Or, to those in a family with a father or mother unemployed, even more hardships. Yay! Speaking of food, An agricultural subsidy is a governmental subsidy paid to farmers and agribusinesses to supplement their income, manage the supply of agricultural commodities, and influence the cost and supply of such commodities. Hmmm, I think that may jack up the food cost a bit? No? Even more money to spend!
Phew, at least one good thing comes out of it ; " The creation of a committee chaired by Vice President Joe Biden and including members of both parties and houses of Congress, to begin meeting next month in order to "agree on a legislative framework for comprehensive deficit reduction" . Seriously.. Biden? There are probably too many reasons Biden shouldn't be involved, but I'd like to not type a bunch more. Now, the idea of this seems alright, meeting is fine, but still, Biden?
Probably last, but not least, " Cuts of $400 billion to "security spending"--that is, defense--by 2023 ", Now, I may be wrong on this, but that's about $333,333,333 coming from cuts of out funding for.. military? That's smart, especially in the situations right now, I don't know how much things if at all have calmed down lately, but don't quite a few countries dislike us at the moment?
Now, I'm sure this plan may include a few good things, but not any that I can find.
Good luck with that, Obama.
By the way, if I got something wrong, feel free to point it out, but I'd rather not get into many debates.
TL;DR : Obama's latest plan is well.. It just sucks, atleast in my point of view.
